Someone mentioned that the deadwood at "high" positions is chopping off 50% budget. A couple of good VPs but the deadwood mafia is going to kill the org. We see lot of 1:1's scheduled today but no one's saying anything.

in Florida my unemployment will be $275 a week. COBRA costs more than the unemployment. What does one live on? Definitely incentive to retire instead of claim. Unreal.

Because of the WARN Act and Businesses don't want to give you notice of termination, layoffs are prolonged. Within 60 days, they won't eliminate a third of an office building. Business will eliminate a few here and a few there over many months.

Heard from my friend in HR that there will be about 800 layoffs in APAC. 250 layoffs in India with the rest mainly in Singapore and Australia. Notifications in APAC are not until at least next week.

Grade 8. 3.5 years in Cisco. Eng - QA 1:1 tomorrow @ 1PM. Does any one know what the Severance Package is ?

Post here your grade, # of years of service and what role you were in (Eng, Sales, IT, etc.). I suspect we may see a trend here.

Yet again the older and higher grades are getting hit, replaced with cheaper resources from RTP and India, newer skills is cover up for offloading the long terms people that have given years of quality service
