Edgewell to Shutter Milford Schick Facility, Affecting 293 Workers

Edgewell Personal Care announced the closure of its Schick razor manufacturing facility. This plant is located in Milford, Connecticut. The closure will result in 293 permanent layoffs. B2B Mid Markets are cooked

30 day PIP process, based on DAPR numbers not CCRS. Takes one month of lackluster results, and 90 days to get off. Even if you hit the quarterly number, a single monthly miss puts you on a written. Have fun trying to take vacation or any time off.

R2B moving out of stores, managing the biggest demographic, and outnumbering Mid Markets 2:1. Open reqs for Mid Markets continually closing and reopening, no new hires.

Full calendars of nothing but blitz calls and zero focus on anything but "growth" via new logos and phone adds. Calendar filled up for 10hr, and being told by Sr Managers and Directors that we need to "sacrifice" to hit the number.

It has been a fun ride. Hopefully it ends in some severance packages and not just managing everyone out with asinine policies.

The End of Bothell

Our leader, Jeremy (Give Me Some) Legg announced a fews weeks ago while here in Bothell, that we would be moving from 7 & 8, to some other location. This was proceeded a couple months earlier with a survey asking if we would like to have an office closer to amenities and a would be willing to drive extra for it.

Now we are faced with moving to a new location , possibly 30+ minutes further away. This might be ok for some but not for those who live close by or west of Bothell.

The bigger question is: why would at&t do this? The NTC is in the same complex as 7 & 8, we own the buildings, and we have plenty of desk space (newly upgraded). The parking su-ks if you arrive after 10 am but food options are not that far away if you like to eat out every day. We recently got out of all the leased building in Bothell and Redmond and moved everyone here.

So, when they move us out to a new leased building, what happens to 7 & 8? Do they get sold or leased to another company?

In the mean time, ~2000 Bothell employees get displaced and moved to a leased (temporary) location. It is only a matter of time we are told that since we don't have a permanent office space, our jobs have moved to Dallas. Bye bye Washington employees.

Pondering a post-IBM life

I’ve been at IBM since 2013. Since that time I’ve seen most of the coworkers I counted as friends get laid off. (Why do we have to say “RA” just because the terms “lay off” and “laid off” cause IBM heartburn?) Given my age and my tenure at IBM, I can’t help but feel a bullseye forming on my back. Still, I’m more at peace with this idea as time goes on. Much of that is because I have yet to talk to any former IBM employee who wishes they were still with Big Blue.

Store Manager Severance

Voluntary/targeted severance.

The old guard is ready to leave and just cashing checks at this point.

MGRs are disengaged over the ridiculous demands, broken equipment, increased micromanaging, and 25% individual store bonus multiplier...getting worse daily.

Sycamore would be wise to move quickly on this.

Executive compensation- 2025 (are they worth it?)

2025 executive pay was just published in Cigna’s annual proxy report. Here’s how much the visionary leaders who are running the company into the ground are making - while your pay doesn’t even keep up with inflation and thousands of us are being laid off or replaced by workers in India at HIH.

David Cordani- $22.9 million
And no doubt he’ll also be getting a huge retirement package when he steps down as CEO in July.

Brian Evanko- $10 million
And he’s poised to make a LOT more as CEO.

Nicole Jones- $6 million
She’s Cordani’s right hand person so that’s not surprising. Will she survive the Evanko era though?

Ann Dennison (CFO)- $4.7 million
She’ll probably make a lot more this year depending on how fast Cigna can get rid of dedicated employees

Everett Neville- $4.1 million
How does this guy make that much?? He doesn’t run any businesses or operations and seems to just be a talking head. His title is “EVP, Strategy and Business Development” but we don’t even have a real strategy and the last few business development deals have been total disasters - MDLIVE or VillageMD anyone?? Cigna lost between $1.5 and $1.8 BILLION on VillageMD alone. How does that justify being paid more than $4 million??

RTO IP Tracking

I heard from my manager they are in the process of setting up IP tracking to determine how many hours a week you are in the office - presumably with end goal to have dashboard like 11 RTO days but now including how many hours your IP showed you in office.

Anyone have further details on IP or any other in office tracking being implemented?

I'm hoping this goes the same way as their development of badge in/badge out tracking which they were too incompetent to implement successfully, which is why we only have the badge in system now.

Current Understanding on Tracking
FTE - Badge swipe ins per month / 11
Contractors - Sapience Micromanagement Software

uk pay cancelled

so despite all receiving a welcome message from our top people person stating there will be a review it seems the UK has been cancelled.
You have not and will not hear this from your UK leader, youll be told there has been a review and it was not affordable, usual rubbish.
your bottom level manager who was not included in the review despite how hard they may work, how low they may be paid or even if they received a top rating in their PDR will have this extra stress added to them and will have to break this news to you.
I am nearing retirement after spending my many years having done the most i can do to look after people in this supposedly people first company and this is the worst i have known it to be and i feel i have been left with no choice for the sake of the wonderful people i work with some of which have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet.
I have my monthly meet with my customer next week and I will be sharing this news and I invite you all to join me in sharing this with yours too.

they need to know before they sign any further projects.
it may just make them think twice about who they give their money to and with any luck move some of their business in house or to somewhere that actually cares about people

To All Those Laid-Off

I know it su-ks to be the one being gutted and left out. I feel for you as I have experienced it myself. As much as it is painful - there is a higher reason for you being chosen. You are being rescued even though it feels like the rug being ripped under you. You will recover and land in a better spot. You have outgrown the version of yourself at Verizon and excel anywhere you go. Sometimes the universe rips off the bandage and places you where you need to be because you are being complacent. I wish all of you much luck, success, and happiness in your post-Verizon life. I know I found in a company that actually values my opinions and work ethic. Peace be with you all especially all trolls that will come here and comment about me being lazy etc. For their information I found a job before my off-payroll date, started a week after and never took unemployment. 🤣

Management and Silos ruining this company

I want to start off saying that the TIAA associates and people I've worked with are great but the silos and Management are running the firm and the associates into the ground which only hurts participants.

Having worked here for a long time until being forced to leave due to Denver closing (not offered relocation) I am astonished how far in the Stone Age TIAA is.

Every business being its own silo prevents learning and keep employees held back when they are trying to find a role outside the firm. It’s easy to believe I had several roles in different areas at TIAA. They teach you just enough to keep you here until a point they don’t need you anymore. Which makes sense why I couldn’t get a job offer elsewhere until being let go having to re-learn same practices and new things not taught due to silos and getting rid of bad habits taught at TIAA.

I couldn’t be happier where I am but am sad that this company is an even bigger dumpster fire after leaving than it was my last few years there.

Relocation possible?

I’m currently remote and looking to relocate with my spouse, who just received a great offer in a different city. While the bank doesn't have an office in that specific city, it does operate within that state (the nearest office is about 4 hours away so I will have to continue remote). Has anyone remote (geocode C) successfully made a move like this in the last 3 to 6 months while staying remote?
