Anyone else going through something similar to this?

In the past few weeks my boss has asked for several things that seem unusual:

  • a certain document she could pass off to the EOM/Acceleration team cuz they are trying to understand certain things for “future state white papers”
  • summaries of all projects I’m currently working on
  • list of priorities for 2026

All of this just seems very sus. Starting to think I’m cooked lol. Anyone else being required to do similar tasks?

The fate of remote workers

This is how I understand things will play out as well. If anyone can confirm, please do.

All of this is purely speculation, but given that remote workers are included in Phase 2, the coming layoffs will probably be related to other factors and not necessarily if you're remote or not. Then next year, you'll all be assigned a NY/LA office and you'll need to relocate by Q3, or else be let go.

O1 visa and OPT - $100K fee as well

Trump needs to sign an executive order for O1 visa and OPT F-1 student jobs as well. This is like a loophole in the foreign work visa system. Now, instead of H1B visa applications, many companies will shift to O1 visa applications where there is no limit on the number of applications approved and the fee is only $530. And those F1 visa students can get a job for 24 months on OPT and then apply for O1 visa employment.

Trump adds ANNUAL $100K fee per H1B visa

Now Halliburton will lose many more engineers, especially all those contractors from LnT etc. Suddenly those cheap contractors are not so cheap hay!

Massive self-layoff incoming

Our contracting firms use H1b to save 25%. This new fee destroys Nike’s contracting model. Leadership will probably try offshoring more but those individuals juggle 3 jobs concurrently and don’t do any real work.

Things have been falling apart the last few years and it’s only going to get worse. This is going to be such a dumpster fire.

Predict the next 8 months

Tell me what you think will happen from now until April.

My predictions:

Cable stripped to bare bones. CBS completely restructured.

Most fully remote employees cut in November (I’m fully remote) so they don’t have to relocate anyone. International fully destroyed.

Mass exodus due to RTO.

Engineering and streaming jobs all posted in LA, NY, SF with below median compensation.

DE outsourcing everything he possibly can to Oracle.

DE buying more IP with his dad’s money.

And I say all this as a person who absolutely loves our company. I hate what this has become. I hate to be a glass half empty person. And I’m not trying to hate on any department or division of Paramount. I’m just being completely realistic about what is going to happen here.

Ok, let’s hear it.

plan for the future....forget about the past

Yes we are going to have fun in the future. we don't need to pay for a phone line. It is a car payment. We will cut it and will just get a land line. The past was the portable phone. The future is no more phone to hold. We can't afford it....and more importantly we don't need it. The that new stuff to do will come besides swiping some supid plastic device into empty space. love the next thing coming

phone plans going down hard in value

We are going to see something crazy really soon. People will cut lines as they lose revenue and get laidyed off. The is going to mean one thing an one thing alone. PHONE PLANES MUST GO DOWN.....PHONE PLANES MUST GO DOWN. We can't afford india anymore. the poeople in the USA won't pay. they will cut costs. they are going to do the best and most wise thing. cut costs. First is the car...2nd is the phone. lovely world coming

Humana can't afford the ERP payouts

If you are waiting for your exit date, you will be left waiting. Humana is stalling for time while they try to liquidate the funds to pay out the ERPs. If they file for bankruptcy, you get nothing. If they sell or merge, you get nothing. Anyone they can term, you get nothing.

Good luck getting out of this h*llhole until you are no longer useful to their benefit. It's one lie upon the previous lie with Humana.

Laid off after 11 years - and I feel relieved

The anxiety had been building to a peak by the time I got notified. And at that moment, I realized I didn’t actually want to work here anymore anyway. Not a coping mechanism, just a sudden, clear realization that not only had I stopped caring about my job here, but there’s really no meaningful future for most of us at Oracle. So, good riddance.

Future of Oracle

It looks that only numbers matters. It's now a CFO driven company.
I've been told that no-one wants to join Oracle now, as can be fired in 1month, 1year. Or low paid jobs for intern/early guys.
Even Gartner magic quadrant won't support, people hate this culture, and are not productive at all.

AI should replace Senior Directors, VPs etc.

reading previous post how AI will lead to next round layoffs I have a proposal, hear me out.
let's be clear most of leadership all the way to VPs are basically walking chatbots, you don't even need "thinking" AI models to replace them, some older ones will do the job. Then add agents workflows to generate endless stupid powerpoints and initiatives, randomize meeting creation and that's it. At least that kind of leadership will do a better job - faster, more accessible, zero price, less d-mb noise, jokes and posts. Their shallowness and lack of any deep knowledge is literally any area is insane.

Worthless anyway, at least we save some money, win win!?
