I stopped waiting around after the last round of cuts, and I've been sending out resumes for weeks now. Got a call yesterday from a recruiter at a smaller firm. First interview is Thursday. I'm nervous but it feels good to be doing something instead of just waiting for my turn on the list.

Job market is brutal
My son graduated last year with good grades and two internships. He can't get a single interview for entry level roles. Every job he applies for has hundreds of applicants. My guess is half of them are people who were laid off from senior roles including from here and are just trying to get anything. It's just very, very bleak right now.
Did anyone accept relocation but not move after the letter came?
If yes, did you find another job and quit?
For all I care, they can lay me off tomorrow
I accepted a long time ago that this job is a dead end. I'm ready. I'll figure something out.
Trying to connect with WD employees who were recently laid off
Hi there. I am trying to connect with WD employees who were recently laid off and still searching for job. I am on the same boat and wondering if we can share our experiences and lessons. Using this platform because we can comment anonymously.
What’s going on with Chemicals?
I noticed several people are shown open to work at LinkedIn.
What companies are laying off workers the week of April 27?
Tell everyone what you or hear about layoffs, companies, number of staff, location, etc.
Any information is appreciated.
We all need to be prepared and have our finances and resumes in order. Recommend to start preliminary job search process now.
Best of luck 🤞 to everyone.
F you Nike
You moved me to Portland offering tons of cash and laid me off, putting me in a flooded market and I have yet to recover. Two years in and i am wondering if my career is over while I can’t find a job and watch you squeezing out talent and promoting the worst of the worst for taste level and vision.
Coming to Nike ruined my dreams, my career trajectory, my finances, and my hopes for a family.
You deserve what comes. I hope it’s worse than Nokia.
Centennial Ghost Jobs
I’ve been applying at centene for years, probably going back to 2019. What’s it take to get an interview? I’ve never even been contacted by a recruiter after having referrals. Are remote job openings on the company site legit?
Outplacement services option - Is it worthwhile?
There is an option to receive outplacement services as part of the severance plan agreement. Has anyone gotten this and is it worthwhile? I'm thinking it just covers resume creation & feedback, interview preparation, job search strategies, etc. Stuff I already did or are doing already but I wanted to compare notes with you all. Thanks!
I got laid off from Nike and thought I was finished
Then I ended up with a better job, better pay, and a much healthier view of work. You’re going to be okay.
I’m writing this because a few months ago I was the person doom-scrolling this forum at 2:00 a.m., searching for some stranger to tell me my life wasn’t over. So here it is: your life is not over.
When I got laid off, I felt embarrassed, angry, and lost. People kept saying it’s not personal, but it felt personal when the job I’d built part of my identity around was suddenly gone.
For a few days, I completely spiraled. Then I got practical. I figured out my money situation first. Put down everything on paper, including severance, savings, bills, unemployment, everything. Once I knew my actual runway, I stopped panicking as much. Then I started reaching out to people. Former coworkers, old managers, friends, vendors, anyone I trusted. I simply said I’d been impacted by layoffs and was looking for roles in my field.
Amd people showed up for me. A former coworker referred me and an old manager offered to be a reference. Another friend helped clean up my resume. At first I applied everywhere, which was a mistake because it just made me feel rejected faster. So I narrowed it down to roles I actually wanted, roles I was qualified for, and a few backup options.
In interviews, I would say something like how my role was eliminated as part of a broader restructuring, how I’m proud of the work I did at Nike, and I’m looking for a place where I can bring that experience into a role with strong growth and stability.
Eventually, I got an offer that was okay, but I still had interviews moving, so I waited. Two weeks later, I got a better offer: higher pay, better title, and a healthier environment.
The biggest lesson I learned is that I had confused being at a famous company with being in the right job. Nike looked great on my resume, and I’m proud of the work I did there, as bad as the place has become in recent years. But the layoff reminded me that no company, no matter how iconic, is your safety net.
So if you just got laid off: breathe. You’re allowed to be scared. But don’t let the layoff convince you that you’re done. Update your resume. Tell people. Ask for help. Apply carefully. Keep interviewing. And don’t take the first bad offer just because you’re hurt.
I didn’t choose to get laid off. But I did choose what happened next and I ended up better off.
No knowledge transfer from me
I plan to be completely uncooperative. What are they going to do? Fire me? LOL. I'll rather use the time to look out for myself and find a decent job somewhere decent.
This is for the best...
For all of you on the chopping block, take the severance package, go on vacation. And then be on the lookout for a job again at Nike. Most likely, your old job will be posted, and with a little bit of luck, you may even get it. The over-hiring hype never ends at Nike.
LHH
Anyone working with LHH that was JE’d? Are they helping? Did you find employment using their service?
Companies to apply to where people are hearing back for interviews?
Are there any companies you've been applying to where you've actually heard back for an interview?

Finally landed something else!
Took forever, over a year. I almost threw in the towel. So glad I didn't. It's a much smaller company, pay is comparable, and they actually seem stable. Fingers crossed they don't go under or slash headcount the week I show up. Either way, best of luck to everyone still looking. Stay persistent. Don't quit. The market is brutal, worse than I remember, but there are still jobs out there.
Where are people actually landing jobs right now?
I'm stuck in a miserable team and every day is a struggle. Bills keep me at SAS but I'm desperately looking. Been grinding on LinkedIn, company career pages, reworking my resume for hours on end. Still nothing but rejections. What platforms are actually working for people? I'm exhausted.

It's so hard getting a job these days
Remember when you'd apply and actually hear back? Not anymore. Now all I get is silence. And most of the jobs on LinkedIn aren't even real. They're phantom postings that go nowhere. The only way I see people actually getting hired is through networking. Someone knows someone who knows someone. That's it. The economy is really bad and the old methods don't work anymore.
People who were laid off
Do you have new jobs by now? I know one person who's still unemployed, and that's scaring the he-l out of me. I'm hoping others are doing better and can alleviate some of our fears about the available jobs.
After months of nothing, I got an interview
I'm so excited I could cry. I could be leaving Honeyhell!
Internal job posting application denied without reason
For someone who is told to seek another job because their current post is going away soon.
What does it mean if when they apply to an internal job posting, it gets rejected almost immediately?
No reason given. Hiring manager does not respond.

Advice on leaving Macys
For those that have left Macy’s what are you guys doing now? What other jobs are better than Macys? I want to leave the company but there isn’t much options for me out there. Been with the company for over 20yrs, would I be eligible for a package or anything of that form?
Struggling post lay off
I got laid off in November and I have not found another job. I am feeling very depressed of my situation. One of the hiring managers I interviewed with told me he cant believe Verizon would lay off someone with my experience. But I didnt get selected for the job. I feel like there is a stigma. Makes them question with all the experience and accomplishments I have I couldnt hold a job. My ex colleagues who didnt get laid off have found jobs externally. It was easy for them to land another job.
Last Week for February Layoff People
How did we all do with the job search? I was blessed to be able to snag a job pretty quickly. To the people who are left behind: you will NEVER have less work than you do right now, but you'll probably have more eventually. Private equity isn't going to spend income on additional payroll. If you're considering leaving I say look around, it's not so bad out here. Then again it took a shove to get me out the door so who am I to preach? Good luck everyone, may the grass be greener on this side.
never ending story
i got cut by oracle in 2018... it was the textboo way to do it... there were rumors of layoffs for a few weeks (then a one to one with my manager)!
a month’s notice, time for handover meetings, plus sh-t trainings for finding a new job or setting up as a consultant. there was also the option of a redundancy pool, along with 6 months of redundancy pay. about 3K of us were cut at that time.
now it seems like when it’s 30K, oracle threw all that good practice out the window and told everyone to f off via email overnight, with all access immediately revoked.
i guess clay magouyrk is a sh-----d who models himself on the musk school of management, whatever that means. safra katz seemed like a decent person who had helped rehabilitate oracle’s corporate reputation to an extant (i have reservations abouth her too) only for it to go down the sh-t-drain again.
Collect a Salary While Looking For Another Job
There is no Future at FIS, Cognizant, or Zensar, so there is no reason to work hard or look for advancement.
There is no point in straining yourself to train your replacement. Just do the least that you can do to get by and nothing more.
It is time to do the absolute minimum required to not get fired so that you can continue receiving your paycheck while spending all of your time looking for another job that actually has a future.
If you have any regard for yourself, don't take a PIP seriously
It's a torture device that ends one way - you getting shown the door. PIPs have been used as an excuse to purge people for years, now they're just cranking it up. My advice is to play along, put zero effort into "improving," and spend every ounce of energy job hunting. XOM isn't the greatest company on earth. There are plenty of better places, smaller ones, often, that actually value their people.
I'll just use being formally employed to search for a job
I don't think either FIS or Cognizant, if I end up rebadged in the next round, will see any serious work from me.
People who are there, honest advice best time to switch job is when you don’t need one
I did mistake, was all aware something big going to happen but instead of preparing for new role. I wasted my time working hard on task which were unrealistic to finish.
Don't quit until you have another job lined up
I know it's tempting, but IT jobs aren't as plentiful as they used to be. Not to mention lots of competition from so many laid off tech workers. Depending on your skills and age, it could take months finding something new.

High gas prices are great for someone. Just not us.
No surprise there. I've been trying to make a job switch for months. The job market right now is as bad as I've ever seen it. What does that tell you?
I want to be the next CEO
How would I go about doing that? Is there someone I should send my resume to?
Nelson Global Products Cuts 65 Troutdale Jobs
The company Nelson Global Products is closing its Troutdale site. Sixty-five roles are being eliminated. Layoffs are projected to finish by September 30. Proximity to customers, low sales, and shipping costs caused the decision. Affected employees will receive severance and job search help.
