I’m convinced Dell is trying to get people to quit. Quotas are higher, attainment less achievable, and no visibility to track progress at 8 weeks into a 12 week quarter.
Most are barely pulling the draw. This calculated decision by Dell is driving good talent to leave.

Quitting week 1
Can I quit in 1 week? Do I need to give a notice? It is really horrible here. My manager might make me do 2 weeks. Really crazy person
1 month RTO update:
It's been 1 month since ELT decided this was the most effective way to make us quit. How is everyone doing with it so far? I can't help but wonder how much more $ we spend to keep these buildings full of bodies vs have them empty? The energy costs alone make me scratch my head. The whole thing seems so backwards and short sighted. It would almost be like discovering electricity, then the government taking it away because it 'feels' that people did better without it, while showing no actual data. Just "trust me bro" talking points. Or air conditioning, the greatest thing ever for st louis and tempe. Imagine having that and then it being taken away because a handful of low iq malicious government officials wanted people to move out of their city. A demonic calculated move is what that would be chalked up as. That is what RTO feels like. A tech advancement that was shown to work for the whole firm for almost 4 years (any way longer for many HO associates), but got taken away with zero offset for compensation. For you slow learners on here who think being in a cube for 4 days is great, how would you feel if your pay was cut 15%? You would suddenly be singing a different tune wouldn't ya? You might hate HBAs and remote work, but for many of us, it was a major perk/benefit and reason for staying here. Now it is gone and after 30 days of this cr-p I see absolutely zero + impact. In fact, it almost seems like productivity is moving the opposite direction. 2 days max in office will get you all the in person "collaboration" one needs. If you want more, come in and enjoy your toxic dystopian sh!thole. Why do office junkies care so much where other people do their jobs at if at the end of the day the same work is getting done? HBAs dont care how many people fill up the cubes or who clocks in a what time. Seems like only the micro managing doofuses of ELT and GPs care about such a stupid concept.
Assigned seating is coming. How do feel about it?
Want if your seat us next to a person that us on team talking all day? How does one concentrate?
They want us to quit!? Or if you sit next to prison eating microwaved food at her desk
Both happened to me this week.
One person was on team talking loud, using speaker
Another one microwaved fish
Thank god I was able to move , but with assigned seating, what are my choices?! Report them?
Voluntary Separation Program WTF
So now we have a Voluntary Separation Program. So quitting with extra steps.
Just leave the company
No sense sticking around if that bad.
Quitting experience
Ask for those who plan to quit on their own. Did anyone quit and not serve out their 30/60 day sentence? If yes, how did you swing that and what are the possible repercussions?
Sorry news: no more available technicians to support your chips
After massive layoffs last few years, we are in serious shortage of workers that cannot make any good chips. It is worst than shortage of chips you can image
We don’t have enough workers to make our own chips working, not to mention about making good chips for customers. You probably have to wait for at least 2 or 3 years to get decent products if you are willing to pay more.
College graduate students refused to study chips or wanted to join Intel due to constant layoff threats
Food chain workers from other industries also refused to join due to its complexities and constant layoff cultures. They prefer to eat foods than to eat chips.
Low pay more work requirements not worth to stay or even making quick bucks than flipping a hamburger.
Constant stock prices manipulation to collect fees and taxes for big institutions
I QUIT !
Do YOU ?
Anyone else thinking of quitting?
I really hope I get selected this layoff wave otherwise I’m thinking of quitting. Anyone else feel the same? I was planning on waiting till next year but I don’t think I can make it.
Open Thread for June 1st RTO:
Here we go! Day one of ELT's move to get more of us to quit. Post your concerns, complaints, funny stories, frustrations, etc in this thread so we can keep the comment section active for our neighborhood ELT trolls who love to lurk here (they are useless anyway, so might as well give them something to do today). Good luck everyone, and enjoy the collaboration this week! 🤡
PS. r/st louis (edward jones) has a post from a few days ago that links this site if reddit is more your scene.
How do you quit
How does quitting work? Do they escort you out or actually let you ride out the 2 weeks?
Never quit
Just a P.S.A. that bears repeating: Even though it feels like it would be better to quit since EJ has become such a toxic work place / environment, do not quit. If you do quit on your own volition, you are giving up many legal protections. Make them fire you. Learn the code words for ageism in disguise: "over-qualified," "passing the torch," "new perspective or cultural fit," "fresh energy," "doesn't want to learn the new technology" to name a couple. There are more and the company will dress it up as a compliment.
HR is NOT your friend.
Grow a backbone
I read a lot of posts on here about MW and senior management and middle management and culture and Chevron is the devil.
If you feel so strongly about it, either tell them directly or leave. If you do nothing you're honestly worse than you think they are. Have some integrity and hold yourself accountable to your moral and intellectual convictions. Maybe this is the sign you've been waiting for to say standing up for what you believe in takes guts and is risky.. so even though it's scary, you should quit.
Employee quits after company forces 5-day office return, manager regrets it a month later
Companies may be able to enforce attendance policies, but they cannot force genuine engagement or loyalty. When businesses prioritize rigid systems over practical realities and employee trust, they often risk losing their most valuable people.

I’m not leaving without being laid off
They want us to quit? Guess what, you’re stuck with me until you lay me off 🤣
I feel sick thinking about tomorrow
I am getting to the point I'd rather be unemployed for some time than having to log in every day, man I really think I'm gonna quit soon, no matter what.
A lot of current Dell employees are already looking on LinkedIn and Indeed. I have several resumes right now
Man, it seems like a lot of current Dell employees are submitting their resumes for my job opening. Maybe Dell will get a lot more people quitting and may see a mass exodus.I wonder what they will say why they are leaving.
Did anyone accept relocation but not move after the letter came?
If yes, did you find another job and quit?
Exit checklist
What if you decide to quit in 2 weeks. Is there an exit checklist procedure to follow?
What's the situation with quitting?
Are you expected to work the two weeks notice or not? I start a new job in a week, but I don't want to not give notice if I can avoid it. Not that I'd want to return to Staples, but you never know what might happen, so I'd like not to burn any bridges if possible.
Connect Disaster Incoming
A handful of Grade 8 AND above confirmed big changes come September for Connect Weeks. Apparently they will be pushing for near 100% in office time and it will be up to each organization, site and lower management’s problem to figure it out. Upper management will send the decree, wipe their hands of it and hold low level associates feet to the fire. No excuses. Gloves off. They’re not happy the forecasting for senior associates quitting didn’t go as planned and now? The rest of us must pay. Thoughts?
Those who are in the know are quitting
Seeing a lot of people who would have been exposed to insider knowledge of layoff plans quitting and getting jobs outside of ExxonMobil.
many are quitting - let alone the layoffs!
looks like OT should offer a voluntary redundancy round - they'd get a few more takers for sure! Maybe write a book on it.
Canada/US market is open for business. closed to opentext - see ya #Energizing Life Every Day!
Can somebody please share their experience after quitting?
I've been asking around and stories I've been hearing about messy final paychecks make the exit process sound more stressful than it should be. I'm kind of hoping folks were exaggerating.
I’m quitting my job next week
I'm so, so tempted to just not show up, but I don't want to burn any bridges, sadly. Does anybody know if I'll be asked to work my two week notice period or will I be dismissed right away?
I'm curious
How many are planning to quit rather than being transferred? I see several people mentioning that's what they're going to do, so I'm just wondering how prevalent that is.
I feel sick to my stomach
I don't want to move to Cognizant. I'll quit. Which I know is playing right into their hand, but so be it.
Quitting in July
If I take PTO leading up to my last day and return my badge, laptop, and other equipment before that PTO starts, will I still be paid for those PTO days, or would my access be deactivated immediately and my pay stop at that point?
I guess not enough people are quitting because of RTO
Expectations are becoming so unrealistically high that I'm sure they're setting us up to fail.
I've been losing my mind for months
Not anymore. We've been through round after round of layoffs, always knowing worse was coming. I care more about my sanity than this job, and definitely more than this miserable company.
I'm finally out
I quit on Friday and it scared me way more than a job this bad ever should. I guess they trained us well to believe that this is as good as it gets. I guess I'll soon find out if they were right.
Quitting AT&T
For people who quit T without a severance but have some pension, what are the things you need to take care of in your 2 week notice? Is it as simple as turning your badge, phone and laptop or are there any financial and documentation wise things you need to take care of in terms of 401K
Bully Co-worker
I work with a massive bully. The problem is he is an architect over my state. He is toxica and is a nightmare to work with. He is a bully to all team members. Even the managers are scared of him.
Besides quitting… what can i do?
D&S Exxodus
Seeing employees in D&S quitting. What have they seen and what do they know that is leading to this?
Whut an thu heck
Wut the managers doin? Are they trying to get all the PTs and MTs to quit?? This place has been as depressing as a broken dishwasher at all you can eat buffet since January.
Entire departments are quitting including managers
Everyone is realizing that this is a sinking ship, over the last 3 weeks, stores have seen entire departments quit, including management.
They're trying to get you to quit
The company treats us poorly and are cutting compensation because it costs a lot less for them if we quit than if they lay us off. They're trying to make it bad for you so you quit. Don't. Slack off and get laid off instead. Start looking for new jobs now and focus the next couple months on the job search before layoffs. Take as much as you can from them if they don't respect you. Make them pay you to get rid of you.
