Ridiculous

This “All Colleagues Call” is a joke. GK’s tone alone was offensive, her words were so contrived and calculated. They are laying off in small groups to avoid having to report the true numbers due to Warn act! They think we are d-mb and we are not. This bank is no longer loyal to anyone.

Laid off after awards and proven savings

In 2024 they hired Deloitte to do an 'audit' after which they went through the organization with a chainsaw on nebulous promises of AI doing all the work. Unproven promises at that. Then hiring consultants and contractors to replace the fired staff, and not even at lower salaries.
They of course kept vertical stacks of deadwood who made life difficult for everyone. The kind of people who stop productive work and su-k up to upper management without doing productive work themselves.
I've received a few small settlements from class action lawsuits for their bad practices.

Help me out please

I work in downstream, was given a date for severance in april due to reorg. Managers said I could post out internally but if I’m not selected. I will receive my severance. I was out on fmla leave last week, then I get the news today. I was escorted out. Is it normal to have gcc, phone, laptop, GI card and facility access taken? How would I be able to apply internally? Or was it a way of saying you’re fired? I have a lot of people depending on me. Just looking for help. 36 year old. Been with shell 7 years going on 8, not no more it looks like. Lol

So tired of being asked to do more to make up for layoffs

I’m now being pressured to take on the work of another team that was let go when my own team was recently cut by more than 50%. I already can’t deal with the extra work left by the people who were let go on my team, let alone try to help another team in an area where I have no idea what they do. I feel bad they don’t have the people they need to do the work, but frankly, that’s not my problem and I can’t fix it for them. I’m so tired of these “leaders” laying people off and expecting us to just magically make up for it.

Curious if anyone knows difference between the the VRP severerance pkg and the layoff severance

As a person who took the past VRP and received 2 wks of pay per year of service, (so a year of pay for me), well subsidized cobra and bonus, I am curious what the terms are for those laid off. Is it a similar package after being paid through March or whenever? How long is the severance pay and other items.? Thanks for any info and so sorry for those affected. I definitely hadn’t planned on leaving this soon. Really loved my job

What money buys you is priceless. It is the freedom to chose and leave anytime.

Here is my story. I made it 13 years at exxon before before quitting. No retirement for me except some of the pension lump sum. The lying a hole hr snake said I would not get anything but I got a little. I made several million dollars during my time at exxon and at my other company. I left with about 2.1 million in my 401k and a lump sum payout of only 230k. I left without any notice. I just stopped coming in to work. I truly hated exxon in the end and could not stand the supervisors and managers. The group was so toxic and gossipy. Eventually exxon sent me a letter of job abandonment and paid my vacation time. It was the best decision and feeling of my life. The money I made was more than enough for me to live on. I kept on working in order to get the medical benefit and higher pension payout but in the end it was not worth the pain and mental anguish. I was seriously thinking of working till 60 at exxon. I now travel the world visiting all of europe, Asia and south america. I got great medical insurance that is more expensive but better than exxon's was. I left in mid 2025 and my financial advisor has already increased my portfolio by almost 250,000 dollars. I live a very frugal life and have no payments as everything I own is paid off. I can live on as little as 2100.00 dollars a month. I so wanted to tell my supervisor to f k off and cuss them out but did not get the chance to. So in the end money was the key to my freedom and happiness. If you are miserable quit and leave before you suffer undue mental damage. This is my story and I hope it helps others who are going through the same he-l I was. I do not want to work anymore as exxon has ruined the experience for me. If I find employment that I can help and succeed in I may try. Good luck to all who play the game but remember the game is rigged at exxon. I had a horrible experience at exxon and hated every moment.
