Citi layoffs

I was speaking with an attorney friend that mentioned he just settle 2 labor lawsuits. 1. A President of a banking institution pronounced am employees name incorrectly for 14 years. 2. A SVP gave praise to ab employee for saving a client relationship. 3 months later they were fired for an unrelated incident. They sued that bank! My point in sharing is I was Job Discontinued in Aug. 2025. It is not Feb 2026 and I have yet received my severance. Citi has NOT MET THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT!!!! When escalated the date keeps moving with NO EXPLAINATION! Seems like i have a case. Just sad I enjoyed working for Citi for over 20 years. What they have done to me and the other 500 people JD in Aug 2025 is unfair and unjust! To the other 20k employees thay will be eliminated good luck!

Warn Notice

First off, I didn’t see any new Cigna Warn notices (in NJ) but I realized looking at the 2025 Warn notice that some companies that gave notice in 2025 that have multiple layoff dates in 2025 and 2026 are not on the 2026 notice. Something to consider when searching company Warn notices you may have to look back on the 2025 if there are multiple dates.

UFCW Local 175 Reduces Minute Maid Layoff Impact

Minute Maid informed UFCW Local 175 about layoffs in Peterborough. Initially, 38 employees faced job loss. UFCW Local 175 negotiated fewer permanent job losses. Only six workers were permanently affected. The other 32 employees will continue full-time work elsewhere.

R2 Layoff Chatter Is Fake News

Real talk: I don’t think Verizon is dropping another layoff bo-b.

They already swung the axe HARD, 13,000+ gone late last year. That was the ugly, one-and-done purge to stop the bleeding and buy themselves breathing room. New CEO basically said “yeah we’re still watching every dollar,” but the massive headcount reset? I am pretty sure that chapter’s closed.

Right now it feels more like cleanup and reinvest mode: patching up the customer service dumpster fire, letting AI chew through the old clunky processes instead of hiring more bodies, trying not to lose any more phone subs to T-Mobile.

If they turn around and do round 2 this soon it’d look panicked, tank morale even harder, and Wall St would eat them alive. I would bet they try to ride this leaner crew for at least the next year unless the wheels completely fall off.

For once I am actually feeling cautiously optimistic. Maybe the worst really is over. 🤞

All about "Intentionality"

Was the mobile app broken intentionally at the same time as the layoff, or was that serendipity?

App Info says Android 10 or better. When try to run on 10, it says OS update required. Guess the guy who was supposed to update the App Info was let go. Or will be shortly.

| Regarding USAA

Does anyone know anything for sure?

We can assume some of the layoff rumors are true. But it would be a huge relief just to know the timeline. Stressing constantly, expecting every week to be the week, is too much. If the job market were better right now, fewer of us would be worried out of our minds. But as things stand, losing this job could quickly become a personal catastrophe.

Why is USAA telling me I can't work in a another financial services job during my lay off period?

They sent me a disclosure telling me for 90 days although I am currently within a lay off period I am not allowed to work for another firm.

First question is how tf would they even know if I got another job?
Isnt this illegal?
This place is the worst place I think I ever worked, in a way im glad the lay off came.

I don't think there will be a "big" layoff this year

Historically it's always been February and August when Dell does their heavy "cleanup" and then with light sweeps in between.

Mav is behind schedule and I'm 100% positive it will not be ready by May - when JC wants it to be lol... It's too important of a project - that will likely fail - for dell to worry much about layoffs on a larger scale, anyways.

Sales has already been given a dog sh-t COMP so clearly the goal there is to force resignations and/or put a LOT of people on PIP's.

IF Dell's true headcount number is 90k, then we are just about there as of now.

The large scale FEB/AUG layoffs IMPO aren't needed anymore as they are super close to their goal now, and there isn't much reason to have 3k+ layoff cycles that make the news anymore.

Some orgs are likely being hit now but, I'd imagine it's far smaller than years past.
