Fear of Donald is what has delayed a 20% layoff in the US. It is inevitable.

Anyone have an educated guess on what is going to happen to all the Denbury folks in the Plano office come November when their 2 years is up? Surely they aren't going to move them all down here when we are cutting so much.

More layoffs before the holidays then a merger or acquisition on the horizon. Goldman Sachs likely. The reduction in cost, the outsourcing, the reorganization. It makes sense and I’d bet money on it.

Apparently, management and leadership are attending a forum, which may or may not mean anything. If anyone has updates, please share. I really hope all of this turns out to be just unsubstantiated rumors - not because I’m invested in this company, but because I need this job, like the vast majority of us do.

I’m not sure if it’s happening today or later this week, but I know it’s not related to this place or trolling. People who had no idea what this site was when I mentioned it are on edge because they’ve heard the same rumors we have here.

Any word on layoffs in Texas? Been hearing rumors of another round in October especially in the woodlands location.

A person from another team has been assigned to do things I’ve already been handling. Not all of them, but everything related to my work. It wasn’t extra work I needed help with, and it’s not someone I’ve ever worked with before. I’m honestly lost on why this is happening, and the only thing I can think of is that I’m about to be let go. Am I wrong?

people at the very top have decided that Hughes will lose a ton of employees. Every team will be affected ~66% reduction all around. It is speculated to happen on 1st Oct but could be anywhere between then and 15th Oct.

Check out the Imperial board this weekend. Those poor guys are worried. Looks like consolidation of employee in either Sarina or Edmonton. Calgary shutting down.

And next week huge layoffs in Europe except London where they released puff piece about doubling jobs there ahead of this.

Curious if there was a specific percentage of people by group? or maybe overall?

There are rumors that DMOS5 and DFAB will become "one fab" but that's leaving a lot of us scratching our heads. Does this mean they will layoff at the fab manager, branch and section manager levels? What about supervisors and really - all of the org? How would it be possible to manage 3 factories combined (DMOS5 is 2 fabs already)? Sounds like a logistics nightmare.

Just calling it now. Don't act like private equity magically cares about the employees. They care about the rights to the IP. They'll only keep the bare minimum number of employees needed to pump out sports titles lol.
