Musical chairs plays out daily at Booz Allen

Every morning, at 7 am sharp the game begins for Booz Allen employees. Count on it no matter what Booz Allen leadership preaches. So, when the music stops, if your left standing without a chair you'll be issued a layoff notice within days if not hours. There are many people inside the company desperately looking for new work. Unfortunately, if you are one of them. Your given an unrealistic amount of time to find new work before a layoff notice is issued to you.

Layoffs are incoming - Tricolor and First Brands will bring us down

Execs behind closed doors, anxiety in the air, red ink all over the place. Mark my words, Tricolor and First Brands is just the start, things will go South from here. Just my humble opinion, I do not have any insider info (aside from closed doors) to support this but we'll see how the rest of the year plays out.

Anyone else going through something similar to this?

In the past few weeks my boss has asked for several things that seem unusual:

  • a certain document she could pass off to the EOM/Acceleration team cuz they are trying to understand certain things for “future state white papers”
  • summaries of all projects I’m currently working on
  • list of priorities for 2026

All of this just seems very sus. Starting to think I’m cooked lol. Anyone else being required to do similar tasks?

I hope this is over as soon as possible

I have a feeling that announcing layoffs then making us wait and not saying when is intentional. They're creating a stressful atmosphere where everybody is constantly worried and some might even decide to quit if it goes on for too long. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid, but it feels intentional.

More layoffs are to come and will most likely continue next year. :(

I had a frank talk with my manager this morning, who is a long-time friend.

Asked if I wanted a "retirement" package, as layoffs will continue until there's profit. My manager may get the cut, but will try to get me on the cut list if I want a package. VPs are dropping hints to management that this might be the last opportunity to get nominated for a package before it goes to HR formulas.

Also mentioned that there's not much future for the younger ones here at the moment, as they're offshoring much to lower-cost geos. Thus, if anyone gets a good offer, don't wait; just seize the opportunity and move on. I can't see light at the end of the tunnel for the near future.

Asked about the $5B Nvidia deal. Basically, I think it's a forced donation, and there is no clear direction on how to execute it yet—too many meetings without a runway. Our dev team is gearing up for this, but $5B won't get very far. If funds run dry, this may get moved to a lower-cost geo or ZBB.

Also, they said that there will be light at the end of the tunnel, but not in the near future, and I'm not sure how many of us will fall off the wagon as we travel along. Thus, the personal anxiety and stress may not be worth it.

Was 10/15 that bad??

Was today October 15th really that bad? Yes, it is sad people have lost their roles (unless they wanted to of course) but I have only heard of a handful of names. From previous posts you thought there would be 1000+ Anyone know total number of colleagues who left us today?

Should I Take a Job?

I am interviewing at Sophos right now and its looking very promising. But I am FEARFUL of starting and being laid off in less than a year..its a new position they created after the acquisition, but idk if its worth it.

** Dropping

I am a manager with a team taking calls for a big mutual funds client.. It was not communicated officially but there is chatter that they don't want our service anymore, looks like it's a done deal. We don't know if that means layoffs for all our teams... Zero official communication and the team morale is below zero. Anyone got any more information to share about this?

Does anyone know how many remotes have actually been offered relocation?

I haven’t. And God knows what that means. Judging from the rumors, relocation offers seem to be just an easy, cost-free way to push people out in most cases. I mean, who would uproot their life for a job when job security is practically an ancient concept? I really hope this gets clarified soon. Honestly, I’d rather face losing the job than deal with this confusion and anxiety dragging on.

I’d be the happiest if I could just not give a damn about this job

But I’m a chicken. I’ve got a family, aging parents, bills that keep climbing, and debt that isn’t going anywhere, while the options out there shrink by the day. So yeah, I’m worried out of my mind. It’s not helpful, but I honestly don’t know how to help myself. Most of us don’t have solid ground to stand on or savings to weather the storm.

Whatever happened to the mid-October layoffs rumor?

If it turns out to be true, that means we’re sc--wed this coming week. I really hope the part about only managers being affected is accurate. But given the current state of affairs, and all those inspiring news headlines, I’m afraid it may end up hitting everyone. However, the only reason I’d be upset about losing this job is because there’s literally nothing out there to fall back on.

polite way to get a package?

3 yrs ago my children passed away from a rare form of cancer. This last yr my marriage fell apart. I've never even told anyone even close this at work. I dont want to be another sad story sounding pathetic, but I would very much like to be laid off. I want to feel something again, not numb, not seeing sad faces, fake faces at work. I've been thinking if I get a package I can go live in Mexico or something for a while, the people there seem happy. Any advice is welcome.

Upcoming Layoffs - What to Expect?

I am really worried that I will be laid off this year. I’m seeing all the signs of a company wide cut from TR and I’ve been here 25+ years. Performance has been good but they keep changing the standards and performance measurements. How do they usually do these things? What process can the unlucky expect?i

Robotics business

How sc--wed is everybody? I know every single acquisition comes with layoffs, I'm just wondering how bad it's going to get. I'm no fan of ABB but I've been reading up on SoftBank and to be frank, I haven't exactly been happy with what I've read so far.

I’m completely exhausted from trying to keep my head above water

I’ve been working my a-s off for months, convincing myself it might make a difference when they decide who to let go. Deep down I know it doesn’t, but it’s the only way I can ease my mind, telling myself I’ve done everything I could to keep this job. It’s so hard to find something else, and honestly, I’m terrified.

I simply can’t find any other job

I’ve been trying for months, just to be on the safe side since I expected layoffs to happen. I thought job hunting would at least give me some peace of mind, but it’s done the opposite - I’ve started to panic. It’s so bad out there that I’m now even more terrified of losing this job. I feel cornered and paralyzed. I just hope the current job market slump is temporary, even though all signs point to it getting worse.

No point worrying about all the implications of RTO

It’s here to make you leave. And the conditions will only get tougher and harder to meet over time. It’s not that leadership doesn’t care about the difficulties RTO creates, they’re actively trying to make people fed up enough to quit, or set them up so they can fire them with an excuse. It’s that simple. The best move is to look for other opportunities, do the bare minimum here, and force them to lay you off with severance. I don’t see any other option.

If the US gets hit too, I honestly don’t know what to do

Who’s supposed to pay my bills? Has anyone noticed the cost of living skyrocketing? Housing, mortgages, it’s all out of reach. Everywhere I look, there are layoffs. I’ve been trying for almost a year to land something else, just to get ahead. I got a couple of offers, but none worth even considering. I even looked way outside my skillset and in cheaper locations. Nothing. Feels like most of us are running out of options.

PSA: how to check if you're on the RIF chopping block

I can confirm a method to see if your role is impacted in an imminent RIF: Go to your HCM Service Apps > Personal Info > My Compensation and look at your "Effective Period."
If it has changed from "Ongoing" to a specific future date (a week or 5 days from now), that is very likely your termination date. This is exactly what happened to a colleague who was just laid off.
Has anyone else verified this? It seems to be a reliable early signal.
