I wish you all the best… truly

If you managed to find another job, somewhere outside of this hellhole, I wish you all the best. You deserve it, and congratulations to you. To anyone still looking, hang in there, your door will open soon, the job market is brutal, we know. To those nearing retirements, also hang in there, I know you are all looking forward to not doing anything or finally breathe or do your hobbies and visit your grandkids, get more cats/dogs.

I feel your sentiments and suffering. We all know Stankey and the gang arent going to revert back to hybrid, nor even give us a seat. They do not want talents here, nor be competitive. We know everything that has been done is to force people out. AT&T is not growing anymore but it still has the cash flow. Investors do not care about morale, so just do your best to not lose yours. This too shall pass.

"Job eliminated" in 2024, and NOW they want my laptop

My position was eliminated 4th quarter 2024. I did get the 401K match and whatever that fancy word they call severance now, but no bonus, which apparently I could have fought for, but didn't. I was WFH because my location no longer had an office. They never asked for my equipment (laptop) back. As a former manager, I'm familiar with the guys in that department and was awaiting an email or letter but none came. Today, over a year later, I get an email from some poor guy "tasked" to retrieve my equipment, asking me for my address so they can send the box. That laptop is already past the three-year mark of when people upgrade anyway. Yes, I still have it, sitting in a closet, and I know it's petty to not cooperate, but I feel petty. Anyone else been asked for it after a year gone?

NASA's Job Cuts in Florida

https://futurism.com/nasa-staff-layoff-trump --- NASA is losing a lot of workers. Over 2,100 high level employees are leaving, many with important jobs in science, space flights, and support work. This is tied to government budget cuts that started under Trump. Many workers took buyout deals and left on purpose, but it still hurts NASA. A new budget plan for 2026 could cut about one quarter of NASA money. NASA used to be one of the best places to work in the government, but that is changing fast.

After record year, ASML is to cut 1,700 jobs, mainly in NL

January 28, 2026

Chip machinery maker ASML is planning to cut its workforce by 1,700 jobs in the coming period, despite having its best-ever year in 2025.

The jobs, the company said in an email to staff ahead of the presentation of its 2025 earnings, will mostly go in the Netherlands and involve “streamlining” its technology and IT divisions to improve the focus on innovation and engineering.

The reorganisation, the company said, is necessary to ensure further growth by bringing back “the fast-moving culture which made us so successful”. ASML has a global workforce of 43,520.

The company booked net profit of €9.6 billion in 2025, on turnover of €31.7 billion. ASML expects further sales growth to between €34 billion and €39 billion this year.

Orders totalled €13 billion in the last three months of the year, almost double the same period in 2024. ASML also announced a new share buyback programme of up to €12 billion, to be executed by 31 December 2028.

ASML is one of Europe’s biggest companies and a major player in the Dutch economy.

Based in Veldhoven near Eindhoven, the company has been at the forefront of efforts to persuade the Dutch government not to discourage highly skilled workers from moving to the Netherlands from abroad and plans to develop a second campus in the region in the coming years.

Beauty Merchandiser position

I noticed that Beauty Merchandisers (previously listed as Cosmetic Stock Associates) used to be full-time, but this week I saw several new Cosmetics Merchandising Associate positions posted as part-time. Are there still full-time beauty merchandisers in stores, or were those roles converted to part-time? Or are these new part-time positions meant to support the full-time staff? Given the responsibility associated with that role compared to the pay. Their compensations should align more with that of a visual captain.

Why are there so many indian jobs?

Former marketer at Elevance Health, now aiming to transition into UnitedHealth Group. Eight-plus years in healthcare marketing, with parallel consulting work for Medicare organizations.

A pattern keeps surfacing: a meaningful share of U.S. healthcare marketing roles are being placed in India. This is difficult to reconcile with the reality of the work. These are American companies serving American patients, operating under U.S. regulations, and handling highly sensitive U.S. health data. Yet core marketing execution and channel leadership are increasingly offshore.

Elevance followed the same trajectory.

This is not framed as xenophobia or talent denial. It is a structural contradiction. Healthcare marketing is inseparable from CMS rules, state-specific nuances, cultural context, compliance risk, and real-time coordination with U.S.-based legal, product, and clinical teams. Offshoring these functions optimizes cost while quietly increasing operational and regulatory fragility.

Job reference illustrating the pattern:
Associate Director – Channel Lead – Digital/Social
Requisition: 2339060
Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India

This reflects a broader corporate strategy shift, not an isolated posting. Whether it is cost arbitrage, shareholder optics, or internal margin engineering, the outcome is the same: American healthcare expertise displaced from American healthcare execution.

North Star Health Alliance Plans Management Layoffs in New York

North Star Health Alliance announced plans to eliminate about 120 positions in New York, with management roles most affected. The layoffs follow the loss of state funding in December after New York officials said the organization failed to provide sufficient spending details.

North Star disputes the claim, saying it has been transparent and is seeking continued state support. The job cuts will also affect some clinical and non-clinical staff.
