Stock is down nearly 20% today and the message from the top is about mission and culture and embracing AI. Only one sentence about Medicare rate notice. If anyone watched the Capitol Hill hearing from last week, both parties are gunning for us. Yet leadership is going on about re-energizing our culture (whatever that means). So tone deaf.

Central station made a poor call on being open today. It’s apparent its solely for the sales launch. Fossil is risking lives over a day of wining and dining international partners.

I have been working at The Bank for over a year now so this is my first time being eligible for a raise. I started in August 2024. Did anybody else not get a raise? I’m trying to understand if it’s just me or is it something that is quite common at The Bank. I’ve never not received a raise at my previous companies. Your input will help. How is it legal for BK to take the distribution out of your account, yet not credit you the money for 30 days.
So basically BK is holding on to your money, earning interest ? Carrying it as an asset ? For 30 days.

Apparently there have been some talking points given to managers to help soften the news of no raises this year for higher end earners, specifically in risk. Can someone post those talking points? I want to know what is bs and what is genuine from my manager. Thank you.

How worried should we be about more layoffs?

Vicki made a huge bet on DAC. To me, the business case was always shaky even if it works PERFECTLY. I’m told it is over schedule and over budget, and we just got rid of OxyChem, which could have been a critical resource.
What if it doesn’t work? Do we have to pay back all of the companies that bought credits? Write off the purchase of Carbon Engineering? Write off the DAC complex?

I have to ask, with everything that's been happening, is there anyone left at this company who is actually happy with their job and optimistic about the future? I'm struggling to find anyone.

Has anyone received their w-2 yet? Are they literally just going to wait til the 31st?

My heart goes out to everyone who was let go last week. With the economy and job market like this, I don't think the timing could be worse. The company's disregard for people's lives is shocking and cruel.

From the last few rounds, I'm getting the strong impression that if you're in your late 40s or 50s, your job is at extreme risk here. Please correct me if I'm wrong since I've been known to be paranoid before, but I think the pattern in the cuts is really hard to ignore.

Anybody else shocked it's nearly the end of January and we're yet to see any layoffs this year? I know something might be coming soon, but still. I got so used to constant layoffs that this reprieve seems like a miracle in itself.

The old rule of laying off the newest people with least experience first seems to be gone. Completely vanished. These days, tenure makes you a target. The longer you've been with Dell, the higher a chance of being laid off. If that isn't messed up, I don't know what is.

There was no communication to local employees regarding this snowstorm. The only email notification we got was an email that I saw this morning when I logged in. Why would they send an email to our work address when we’re not logged on during the weekend…. makes no sense.

What do they get from it? I'm genuinely curious.

I know it's just a week left, but I don't trust them anymore so it wouldn't surprise me if they sprung something else on us.

Why is Oracle struggling?

At least 16 were cut this week. We were given 3 days notice. Most were in content creation in the zyBooks division.

Wiley is circling the drain. Senior managers are incompetent and clinging to ideas that don't work just to save face. Upper management is trying to shoehorn AI into applications where it doesn't make sense. All while the stock is hovering around a 5-year low.

President Ed Seidel of UW spoke out against proposed budget cuts.

• Lawmakers' budgeting committee proposed a $40 million reduction to the university's block grant.

This reduction is almost 11% of the school's state block grant.

Seidel warned these significant reductions could lead to layoffs. The Wyoming Freedom Caucus supports these cuts, citing concerns over "woke education."

Is the PluralSight training and assessment tool going to be used to fire people? I have a technical category that may have fit my job description when I got out of college but doesn't really reflect what I spend the majority of my day on. Now I spend my days in meetings or navigating the labyrinth of policies, procedures and tools FIS requires. I've always had good reviews but now I have a feeling, I will be substandard. Is anyone else paranoid?

If you are still employed here, and not on a Visa, it's probably not for long. You can do something to stop or even reverse it though. Aggressively report any perceived visa abuse below, even if you're not 100% certain. The future of your career literally depends on reporting these people as it's only going to get worse from here

Basically title. Hired mid 2025 and had my review with me receiving an IM. All commentary in the review did not support an IM but here we are.

Anyways, there are two people who report to my bosses boss and they definitely received an “exceeds” on their review.

Do both these things add up to me getting an IM? Should I be worried for mid year or is this standard WF practice?

Are we ever going to get to a point where we won't have to think about the next round before the current one is even properly over?

Is anyone else concerned that poor leadership decisions are putting the whole company at risk? I enjoy my role and my team, but the strategic mistakes are piling up. We need a change in direction quickly.

It seems like the beginning of a trainwreck.

I guess they 're hoping all of us will be willing to do jobs of three to four people to keep this place running. I really hope we prove them wrong.

My manager told us that Optum Care on the west coast lost over a billion dollars last year, and that we have until the end of this year to break even. I can’t help but think that means layoffs.

It went from a good place with a future to a sinking ship. Management only cares about the stock price, not fixing our old systems or keeping people. The original idea is dead and we're all just waiting for the next bad news.

I’ve been around long enough to see multiple versions of Nike’s SLT come and go. This one is easily the worst. Even with natural turnover over the years, I’ve never seen a group this ineffective or directionless. There’s no real vision, no sense of how to move the company forward. Even the person at the top seems to be winging it. Hard to see how this ends well. The company feels beyond saving.

I'm not liking the quiet, feels too much like a storm is brewing.
