Ford Motor Company Employee Totals 1984 -2024

Procrastinators of layoff doom, here is a record of totals for Ford employees.

I will post the link again when the 2025 numbers are updated.

Let see how correct the predictors of large layoffs for 2025 actually were.

Does this Company have an HR department

So ridiculous, toxic environment, years of dei hires with no experience, culture is like working at a buss terminal. HR & Labor Relations work together to sc--w you and make this job uncomfortable. Im still here for now but good luck to those laid off. Besides the paycheck what did you really accomplish.

MAJOR BONUS DISCREPANCIES

PL here. If you are a legacy Schwab employee you need to know that you are getting sc--wed badly on your bonus. Your TDA colleagues (that are peers to you) have a much higher bonus percentage (5%+ more). When Schwab switched all legacy blue employees to the percentage based scale a few years back, they maintained status quo with whatever your bonus amount was at the time. The green employees who were already on a percentage based bonus at TDA got to keep their percentage level which means that ALL of them are getting more bonus than their peers on the blue side. Schwab should feel embarrassed and ashamed that they allowed a disgusting discrepancy like this to occur, but NOTHING has been done to correct it for years now. Take this for what it's worth, but Schwab really does not care about you.

Question on being managed out.

I read that when Schwab wants you to quit they start write ups and the compliance team starts questioning your every move even if you are doing nothing wrong.

Eventually Schwab sits you down and asks you to resign or else they mark your licenses.

This feels like blackmail, how should one navigate through this situation and how should one answer probing questions from compliance and management?

the 1st wave and the 2nd wave

Can someone please break it down for me the main differences between the 1st wave and the 2nd wave? It sounds like the 2nd wave has a longer transition period until April 1st while the 1st wave only had 30 days? Just trying to be mentally prepared for what the 3rd wave would look like. Thank you all for your inputs. This forum has been more helpful and informational than any leader(s) could be.

who runs the company?

it seems the actual CEO is absent from the EC committee, and she seems to only be present as a cheerleader, and absent from any meaningful actual leadership. Does the board make all the seemingly confusing decisions? is it made in a vacuum by Mason or Gibson? I'm genuinely confused as a a newer employee here...

Anyone else doing “time trials” right now?

Management supposedly just wants to see how long it takes employees to work a case, however, there are 35 (YES THIRTY-FIVE) different task codes to choose from, including lunch/breaks AND Other, in which a comment is required. Looks like every single minute of our day has to be accounted for. I am so done with this place! Not like we aren’t doing our work, just certain times of the month are busier than others but we always get our work done.

Verizon india - Layoffs this week

it's confirmed that Vz India is going to see layoffs this coming week - Probably around 3rd or 4th Dec. A bunch of us are asked to WFH this week while the others aren't. FYI - When layoffs happened in 2017, the employees were shown the door the same day. Which group of people are getting laid off in this scenario?

Definitely more layoffs coming in December?

It would make sense. The round on the 20th didn’t seem to hit 15K. If that’s true, good luck to everyone. I’m also not convinced this will be the last. I’ve kind of accepted that this whole job feels temporary at this point. I just can’t stress about it anymore, I don’t have the energy left.

3 weeks from today

Truly sympathizing with anyone who is getting their last regular paycheck 3 weeks from today. The first time I got laid off in 2022, this feeling caused true panic but was short lived. I found another role, and then was laid off for a 2nd time 2.5 years later. That first missed payday after the layoff was brutal. It all worked out, but I am thinking about anyone having to go through this. Exactly the reason why I despise VZ.

Liberation Day in France

Today marks the end of ExxonMobil's presence in France, with the change in control for all remaining assets owned by US major to North Atlantic. There will only remain a tiny commercial structure with less than 20 employees. Esso France is dead, long live North Atlantic Energies.
Rejoice! This is the end of all the corporate bullsh-t people had to swallow for years (and keep smiling as if they liked it), the end of decisions made from 30'000 ft with limited knowledge (if any) of the local context, the end of dysfunctional organisations, having to deal with the incompetence and carelessness of “service” centers supposed to support you, the end of underinvestment in industrial sites making them more and more challenging to operate etc. etc. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?
To all those in the EM world facing the same prospect (i.e. being dumped by big mamma): DON’T BE AFRAID. There is a world outside the fence of the prisoners' camp... 😀

History of Corporate America's Layoffs

For those of you too young to remember, he's the basic history of Corporate layoffs in America that all started with the government mandated breakup of the AT&T Bell System telephone monopoly on January 1, 1984 ("Divestiture" of AT&T's local Telephone Operating Companies, including Bell Atlantic).

AT&T Information Systems (IS) layoffs started in January 1984 that impacted ~25,000 employees with literally dozens of major rounds of cutbacks at AT&T following well into the 2000's. When it first began to happen it was literally a feeling of disbelief by not only by AT&T employees and their families, who were used to the benevolent Bell System ("Ma Bell") work culture, but also by Americans at large who couldn't fully grasp that the "contract" of employment for life was over at major companies. IBM soon followed suite and once they did the floodgates opened up on mass corporate layoffs which soon became commonplace and continue to this day.

VZI Get ready to Brace on Dec 3rd or 4th- Its Huge

Approximately 2000 employees are part of this Layoff. All those who had approaching and needs improvement are on the list. If the 20 to 25% numbers are not met ,all other rules come into play. Be prepared. Training session for Directors and ADs will be given tomorrow or Tuesday and announcement will be post that. VCG is going to be badly affected. VBG, N&T, VCG Business, CSG, are equally affected by avg of 20% AI&D with the least by 15%.
There are going to be changes in AVP, Senior Directors , Directors when the Agile delivery to be rechristened with one more useless way of execution supported by all leaders who follow them BLINDLY coz they want to "try".
This org will only sustain when all leaders above Sr. Manager stop focusing on defects and start focusing on strategy, with inclusion at all levels get the inputs from all rather than "designated" architects whom they think can change the entire world. The team that is responsible for all this is the ATO and its futile process implementation which is not studied but rather theoretical. BTW i am Top performing for the last 2 years. so all the above is a frustration of me going to stay here with a load of work, loss of knowledge from so-called "non performers", loss of vendors who had been in the system for more than 2 years . Everything is boiling down to the people who are going to stay. A meagre call will be done under senior director or AVP to boost "MORALE" which they think all others are fools for their gimmick to be played. Its a wake up call for people like me to move on. Verizon is going into a blackhole which will also pull us into it, while many think this is safe haven. All that matters is "Shareholder Value" and nothing else. ALL EMPLOYEES ARE JUST NUMBERS. Get out of this number game.

Finally check this prompt in Gemini
"What if the 50% of the laid off people join T-Mobile or the 13000 people move their connections along with their family connections to T- Mobile"

Why are discover employees not posting here anymore?

I know. It's because they've blocked access to it from work and put the fear into them that it's hopeless to succeed. Rest assured all Discover employees will be destroyed. Happy Thanksgiving 2025 !!!

Don't overeat cuz you won't be able to run when Capone puts you on a fake PIP to be fired.

I used to like working here

I used to respect this place. But that respect faded slowly as priorities shifted and so many promises were broken. There were bright moments but they’re drowned out now by short-term thinking. I respect the few people who try, but the institution feels worn. It's over.

How safe is it to relocate for Nike?

I was offered a promotion but I'd have to move for it. It's not a bad offer, but with all the cuts, I'm a bit hesitant to pack up and move my entire family and then potentially end up jobless. Is this something that actually happens or am I safe at least for a while if I accept?

Splash Damage layoffs

Known for its work on Gears Tactics, DOOM 3, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Splash Damage will be making significant job cuts. Staff have been informed and have said so about this on LinkedIn.
