Jobs diversion to Verizon India

Have you recently check Verizon careers posted externally? All locations seems to be on India even Engineering Ops. Is this an operational strategy to cut cost where eyes are in India and fewer hands in US? I see a murky future for Verizon. Parts of it will be sold.

Toxic culture or a few toxic people?

I’ve been shocked by the amount of disdain directed at long-time T. Rowe associates on this board, especially toward IT staff. It’s hard to tell whether this comes from just a few loud voices with axes to grind or a broader sentiment. My experience up until the past year or so has been with nothing but great, hardworking, kind people.
It’s concerning to think that some of the people I work with may hold these same toxic views about their own coworkers. While I can see why management might have incentives to move jobs, I don’t understand why other associates — who aren’t protected from future layoffs — would voice such contempt. It makes me wonder if their presence here is more about stirring trouble than supporting those who are impacted. Perhaps to expedite the exodus by creating conditions where more people depart on their own?

Is it really this bad?

The lack of major layoffs is for paramount employees. WB will be decimated. There are few jobs here that is not completely redundant at paramount. WB should have bought paramount not the other way around. To the victor belong the spoils.

Now that the finish line is getting closer, do we think this is true?

2026 Layoffs Continued

I was laid off after more than 15 years at Wells. I survived the previous rounds, but I was finally caught up. Our CEO made it no secret this would continue through 2026. Each round I survived I had a little hope. Make no mistake it doesn't matter if you are a top performer or not. I have seen top talent just be let go over and over. It will continue.

I knew this might be a possibility, so I have been looking for jobs for months. It's been scary with this economy and job market. No bites. Had resume reviewed, joined job boards, joined talent agency/groups. The only thing that has come up is short term contracts but no real bites. Ageism is real and it's scary as he-l. All I can do is keep trying, take some time to up-skill and get some additional feathers in my resume cap, but I would be lying if I didn't say this job market is brutal.

Make no mistake. Wells doesn't care about the loyalty and commitment you have shown to them no matter how many years of service. Your performance isn't a guarantee either. Over the years I have jumped when Wells said jump. Traveled more than I can remember, worked nights, worked weekends, putting in 50-hour work weeks. Been a repeated top performer. They expect loyalty from you but don't expect loyalty in return. Don't be fooled. None if it matters in the end. You are just a number to Wells.

Ominous email, severance and AI role

  • General Motors employees who were laid off Monday described their job terminations to CNBC.
  • The layoffs affect about 500 to 600 employees, largely in information technology roles in Austin, Texas, and Warren, Michigan, according to a person at GM familiar with the layoffs.
  • Artificial intelligence played a role in the decision, but it was not the only reason for the terminations, the person said.

LayOffs 100% confirmed

Layoffs are 100% confirmed: Anyone at this site who spends every day waiting for a meeting about being let go, anyone who no longer wants to work at Cisco, anyone who only complains about management despite the company reaching record-high stock prices, or anyone who has simply lost motivation is free to leave Cisco.

Please do not waste company resources or other people’s time. If you are ready to move on, do so now.

There are thousands of talented people with fire in their eyes who have been struggling for a long time to find an opportunity. Give them your place, and go in peace.

What platforms work, if any?

I've been applying for months through the big job boards and getting almost nothing back. No calls, no interviews, nothing. For those of you who've been laid off and managed to find something, which platforms actually worked for you? I need to change my approach.

$213

Looking like the days of Arvind fooling Wall Street with his financial engineering shenanigans is coming to an end. Heading right back to $160, where it was before he embarked on his "RA everyone, move everything to India, stop investing in everything" strategy.

Most corrupt company ever

Zero consistency. Zero accountability. Zero integrity.

Right here in DFW, we have hundreds of managers working from home (I.e. Eric Smith team) or sitting in the office closest to their home; And non-market based staff managers spread out across the country working in their pajamas all day. (I.e. Korte org)
And how many managers with minimal skillsets are flying below the radar because their director doesn't want to give up headcount while seasoned managers with broad skillsets are being let go in other orgs.
Meanwhile managers that uprooted their families, moved to Dallas, adhered to RTO are being let go cuz they are the oldest in the team. YES IT IS HAPPENING! Most can't afford to forego the severance & fight it in court.

FU-K AT&T!

RIF 2026 Q4 - 2027 Q3?

Can anyone corroborate a document I found which forecasts RIF beginning in Q4 through Q3 of next year? I don't want to give too many details but it was a full time employee forecast for one of the major support units. The decline began in Q4 with a few hundred RIFees each quarter and then a steep drop in Q3.

This adds to 315 layoffs approved earlier in April. The district will close 29 schools next year due to declining enrollment. Perspective of a new graduate

I’m still new to ExxonMobil but I don’t know how our leaders think the actions they are taking don’t hurt our long term value. Short termism is very visible. The way good people are being treated is cruel and does not make us younger gen want to stay around. All of the people who want to teach us are leaving and I don’t many the ready to retire but the people who have been around for 10-20years are leaving and the gap is becoming more and more obvious with no one replacing them with the work being outsourced to India.

Then let’s go to the system and process. They just don’t work anymore. Any new system or software su-ks. career connect doesn’t work, D&S is even more opaque (maybe yet again the plan) and we’ve outsourced our pay, vacation.. basically everything with no accountability to fix or own any issues.

The foundation is sinking and it’s just getting worst. I’m leaving as soon as I can but investors and shareholders should be worried. DWW is feathering his nest for retirement but our stock will be impacted by the short term actions that will impact long term value

Chevron Rebuilding Shell’s Laid Off India Team?

Shell cut a large portion of its IT workforce in Bangalore for a reason. Yet RB and LC apparently thought it made sense to bring in the leader who built Shell’s India data and analytics group, even though that role was eliminated during Shell’s own layoffs. Now we are watching that same leadership rebuild the team by hiring former Shell India employees into Chevron.

Any DX Healthineers on here?

Hello,
I recently transferred from GLA to WAL. What's the word on the street? It sounds like Tarrytown is in a very precarious situation. Seeing a lot of retirements in Walpole - are they forced early retirements? My friends still in Glasgow still work there but they don't seem to be a part of our huge 6% loss in diognostics
