For months conversations have swirled around a changing risk environment @PNC and today, unfortunately several folks in Risk, Compliance and i believe the change office were displaced after an organizational realignment. This comes on the heals of FirstBank and the BAM's. Sadly, it seems like this is just the beginning, not just with PNC, but banking in general. The financial landscape is drastically changing...it feels like 2008 all over again.

PayPal Layoffs - April 2026 - Daily Digest (4/21/2026)
This is for non-PayPal folks, if you are reading threads please skip. It is AI generated based on today's discussion, the summary is for Journalists and Social Posters so we can spread the word in a unified way. We cannot change what the execs are doing but we can still spread the word and at least have some people be aware of what's being done to the worker:

Consolidating what is being repeated across threads:

@OP+1kpnme7ft,@OP+1kppctqsc,@OP+1kppjaw72 - The main warning sign seems to be the "Important Business Update" invite:
@OP+1kpnme7ft - Specific claims from that thread include an entire team of 40 being let go
@a2+1kpnme7ft, US remote meetings@a5+1kpnme7ft, and US hit with severance of 10-26 weeks@d1+1kpnme7ft - Locations / orgs mentioned include NA MTS

ODW is not the needful
ODW is not the needful. Many jobs will be roasted. I've told you.
Bad week for the highest paid 10%
Word on the street from a credible source is that tomorrow they will announce the location cuts and on Thursday is when the top 10% highest base pay employees will receive their severance email.
Never understood why they make their cuts based on pay, when your top performers are the ones who are paid the most for a reason.
T-Mobile lays off 300 plus employees across several states
https://stocks.apple.com/AINSWRZqdTmCMMLj_ShPjhw
Layoffs continue to loom large across the U.S., spreading through nearly every sector of the economy.
From major technology companies like Meta Platforms and Disney announcing thousands of job cuts to store closures and bankruptcy filings in retail, including the recent turbulence surrounding QVC’s bankruptcy filing, have fueled fresh concerns about further workforce reductions.
As companies prepare to report earnings, many are continuing to trim costs, simplify operations, and redirect spending towards automation and efficiency.
The telecommunications sector, long viewed as more stable than tech, is now feeling the pressure as well.
The trend is playing out at a major connectivity player, T-Mobile, which filed multiple Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filings in April, impacting hundreds of workers across several states.
T-Mobile files 326 layoffs in April
After announcing 393 job cuts in Washington just two months ago, the company announced further cuts in Tennessee, Texas, and Colorado, with layoffs expected to begin in June.
Recent WARN filings show the largest reduction in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where the company disclosed 200 permanent layoffs at its facility on Customer Delight Drive, effective June 8, 2026.
Midyear Feedback at BNY
Another tool in the layoff toolkit? Get hammered in May, rated off track in June, find yourself on the list by year-end…Does this resonate with you or am I reading too much into it?
When will the rest of East Syracuse/Oriskany employees be let go?
Any word on the next/final round of lay offs for East Syracuse and Oriskany employees? I thought it was Q1 this year and while I know they laid off a bunch in February there are still some of us left. When will we get laid off?
What's the latest on cuts?
Something tells me something major is coming.
Osceola manufacturing plant closing
Polaris is closing its Osceola manufacturing plant facility which will leave nearly 190 workers out of a job.
The closure will begin in July and end by Jan. 31, 2027, a letter to the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Displaced Workers Unit said.
The employment of 189 employees working at the facility will end by the time the facility completely closes, the letter said.

How does this even work?
CFO got a $26 million bonus after layoffs. Doesn't that negate the loss of a whole bunch of jobs?
Even more layoffs coming
May 5 or June 6. This will be huge.
May cuts
Did we hear anything new on potential May cuts? Or has that rumor been debunked?
No layoffs today
Stop scaring people for no good reason. When layoffs continue, we'll all know it.
How's XOM these days?
Quit last year around this time and sorta forgot about EM, but thought I'd check in to see how y'all are doing.
I do keep in touch with a few EM folks and they all seem kinda sad or stressed out (though the BTC people on LinkedIn seem happy).
How's it going there these days?
This is the new normal
I can't with people who say there were surprised by layoffs. How?? Layoffs have been a regular occurrence for years. Constant small cuts with several major rounds every few months. Where were you if you managed to miss this? I'm not saying it should be like this, but please, stop saying "layoffs happened out of nowhere."
Finally landed something else!
Took forever, over a year. I almost threw in the towel. So glad I didn't. It's a much smaller company, pay is comparable, and they actually seem stable. Fingers crossed they don't go under or slash headcount the week I show up. Either way, best of luck to everyone still looking. Stay persistent. Don't quit. The market is brutal, worse than I remember, but there are still jobs out there.
Employees say layoffs, AI, and return-to-office policies are changing their work and lives
https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-employees-layoffs-artificial-intelligence-return-to-office-tech-jobs-2026-4
They laid me off and now they're hiring for the same role
Just saw a job posting for the exact position I was let go from a few months ago. Does anyone making these decisions have any shame? Has this happened to anyone else? It's a slap in the face honestly.
What kind of numbers are we talking?
Looks like this round will end up huge.
Large layoff North Amityville did we miss that
60 people let go April 9th from the North Amityville location. All where on the b1b program. Program was sold . They will be closing 1 of 3 buildings at first. Harris is then selling off the other 2 buildings we-pons release and antennas after this. The new company they are creating for missile defense. The division sale should happen end or the beginning of 2017 to mid 2017
Clifton is also to be a target end of 2027. There the only division that owns there facility . Property worth quite a bit of money. The high cost of labor in new Jersey. Programs are to be moved and or sold. As we all know Harris needs cash.
I have been with Harris management in palm bay for 10 years. Family person just like you.
Don't want people caught off guard about their choice of employment to affect their future also current staff.
Maybe I am a snitch but want future and current staff to be aware .
All the best to you and yours to the future.
Might be a stupid question
but is it possible to negotiate your severance? Do we have any leverage in the whole process?
LA Mayor Bass Proposes Stable Budget, No Staff Cuts
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass unveiled a $14.85 billion city budget for the coming fiscal year. The proposed 2026-27 plan avoids staff layoffs and eliminates vacant positions. It relies on stronger-than-expected tax revenues to stabilize city finances. The budget prioritizes homelessness, public safety, and core city services. This approach contrasts with last year's spending plan, which faced potential staff cuts.

Block Reduces Staff Citing AI Efficiency
Several companies are announcing workforce reductions, citing artificial intelligence as a key factor. One report indicated AI was a factor in 8% of recent job cut plans. Some industry leaders question if this is always genuine or "AI washing." Despite cuts, some companies may rehire for new AI-related roles. This trend highlights AI's evolving impact on employment across various sectors.

LHH Study: Majority of HR Leaders Expect Future Layoffs
LHH research indicates 87% of HR leaders plan or have conducted layoffs. These workforce reductions are driven by skills displacement, AI, and market shifts. Most employers find rehiring talent more costly than internal redeployment. A significant gap exists between HR leaders' perception and employee awareness of redeployment programs. Organizations need integrated strategies for outplacement and targeted redeployment to manage continuous restructuring.

What the actual heck.
My team of registered field nurses has no work. Okay, we have some work but not very much, as in not enough to meet productivity. They hired new nurses last year just as things were slowing down. Now things are so bad- like the hunger games vying for appointments. Forget the bonus, it no longer exists. They are hiring yet again but we have no work! What the heck? What’s going on? My manager has no answer for lack of work, it’s almost like she is pretending the issue doesn’t exist. Any thoughts on what the strategy is here?

Anyone catch that quarterly call QA on Europe Hiring freeze and layoffs?
The question was when will the European internal hiring freeze be lifted and is there another layoff coming soon. It was responded by effectively “Hiring freeze will not be lifted any time soon. Anyways I think everyone should be building agents. Next question!”
Yikes. No comment on the layoffs is quite telling but I could be reading too much into it
Stock price going up , get ready to be booted out
Layoffs incoming !!!! Time for managers to count their favorites and retain the ego strokers.
Today is the day!....
More layoffs coming today and tomorrow. Small batch, not big batch.
