Entire group was fired yesterday and another one in london is planned in the next few months. The train replacements in india and then fire the OG team.

India - The option to work from home on Mondays (no RTO)
Google “Chevron Benefits” and navigate to the India section. You’ll see that employees there are offered the option to work from home on Mondays.
When you compare this to the far more limited flexibility given to U.S. Payroll employees, it paints a clear picture: Chevron is providing its offshore teams with more favorable working arrangements than its U.S. workforce.
Clearly a plan to force US Payroll employees to resign without severance.
Another mass layoff for compucom 2025.
Just a heads-up, Compucom did another mass layoff last week. The company is massively struggling as they cant seem to get stable against competors who want to win their contracts. With their AI claims not actually coming to fruition (nothing is active) and their FLO charting system just being PowerBi reskinned... Basically all of last year was a bust, everything they have and their endeavors are all smoke and the leadership can't figure out how to right the ship with India teams as their main provider at this point while they retired while employed. Maybe next year.
Charge taxes on offshoring jobs
Companies that offshore jobs should be taxed heavily. It’s essentially “exporting” jobs oversees. Verizon would have to pay a huge bill on that case.
Where do you live?
With recent announcements stating jobs would only be open in the main hub locations, I bet layoffs for workers who don't live close to the a hub. More and more people are required to go into the office so it's only makes sense. Why get rid of 1 millionaire vp when you can get rid of 15,000 low level employees? If you want to stay with the company, they are still aggressively hiring in all other countries except the United States.
Honestly
If your job can be done from home then it can be replaced by either AI or offshoring. I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be mean but blue collar is all that will be left in the near future.
When Expertise Gets Replaced By Discounts
I am a biomedical engineer with multiple master's degrees and 25+ years of experience in the field. I even studied FDA regulations at a law school. I have written thousands of engineering documents for FDA compliance many times at different medical device companies. But Medtronic sent my job to India.
Since I do have 25+ years of experience, when a company in a regulated industry sends its work to India, the quality of compliance engineering usually drops. I worked at one firm where the medical device company sent its requirements documentation to India to save money. After about a year, it wasn't working out at all. So, an American-based team in Miami with principal-level engineers had to rewrite it from scratch. I predict this is happening right now for Medtronic. But those VPs overrule it. I know there were mid-level directors who foresaw that as a big risk. Some of them left or just got laid off.
So, why does that happen - the drop in quality of engineering compliance? Usually, it's a variety of factors like time zone difference, culture gap, extreme distance, challenges for English as a 2nd language, and lack of experience. Given the "woke" culture, if an engineer brings up the issue of "English as a 2nd language" then someone usually pulls the race card rather than deal with it. I've seen that happen multiple times with offshore teams. Rather than admit their writing su-ks, they'll just yell racism in a variety of ways. BTW - I am a bilingual speaker of English and another language as a minority engineer. So, I know when someone struggles with English as a 2nd language. It's common with offshore teams. Are there exceptions? Sure. But it would be naive to assume the cluster doesn't exist.
But I'm having great fun doing research on AI for medical imaging. I work with a group affiliated with the Mayo Clinic over in Rochester. I gave up on the medical device industry and work in finance now. But I still do academic research outside of work with medical imaging and AI. It's very rewarding - no ugly corporate politics and no offshoring. I had a meeting with two principal scientists today to discuss fMRI and DTI data processing. The research of AI and medical imaging is fascinating. One can still enjoy such research without dealing with the corporate nightmares of the medical device industry.
BTW - be sure to lookout for that FDA Audit Inspector when that offshore team has to show its documentation for compliance engineering. I doubt they can make the cut. I've seen it fail multiple times.
60% about to be moved to India
Know someone in upper management. They say the Sofi will be moving 60% of jobs to India over the next year. Plans are already under way.
What truly caused this
The disaster that most everyone realized was coming is directly related to the hiring of executives, for lack of a better term, from Sweden, Ireland, India, and Canada. At least two have been under investigation of wrongdoing while being the head of other companies. The next part of the disaster is allowing HR to run the business with its innate stupidity. Another part of the mix is increasing prices and forcing someone within finance to manipulate the numbers by showing increased subscribers rather than terminations based upon the increase. Forcing out the knowledge base within the company. Offshoring customer service and everything else they could get their hands on. This CEO will do no better and the price increases will continue along with layoffs. When something this large is turned into such a mess, it will take a very long time to correct. One common theme that has existed for at least ten years is the executives do not want to hear the truth. Every negative is twisted, turned, and shined so the executives can continue to believe that they are the greatest.
This is from Wireless, but still very much true. OP is @f7+1k9q3zzfe.
Show your next employer no more loyalty than they show you
The days of mutual respect and loyalty between management and staff at IBM are long past. IBM’s one-time core principle of trust and personal responsibility in all relationships no longer applies to its executive ranks (nor do the IBM Business Conduct Guidelines.) Don’t overly invest in your career because it’s guaranteed that your employer at most makes extremely short-term investments in you.
Know that your 1st or 2nd line manager may have been coerced to sign a justification for laying you off written by higher ups and certify it as their own assessment. The documented decision making process and paper trail scrupulously follow the law. The actual decision process is a different matter. IBM’s no longer squeaky clean in this century; it just presents the outward appearance of being so.
In IBM even band 10 and band D employees are disposable interchangeable parts now. The situation has become similar at other major tech employers. Show your next employer no more loyalty than they show you. Beware of loyalty to your local team. Big businesses get a free piggyback ride from that loyalty to your local team. They count on it!
Even if you’re the best in your country or geo, they can always find 2 or 3 lesser talents in a far cheaper developing country to replace you. They won’t think twice before doing so … even to someone who walks on water.
This. OP: @ce+1k9hfmk62
Only hire in India
There’s a corporate direction (at least under Jamie) to hire only in India. Any exceptions need to be approved by some board.
this is bad
i’ve been reading about people being forced to train their replacements for at least a decade, but i never thought i’d end up working for a company that does it. when i started here a few years back it felt like there was a real culture of appreciation and opportunity.
this practice is disgusting and should be outright outlawed. no one should lose severance for refusing to take on something so unfair, unethical, and demeaning. severance should acknowledge past effort, not serve as blackmail to make sure an unqualified replacement can get by.
i had to go through multiple interviews to prove my skills just to get this job, and once hired, i barely got any real training.
as they cycle through teams, many can only document so much because creativity is often needed to solve problems. writing stepbystep instructions for every situation isn’t realistic. VZ also seems blind to how much these off-shore things exaggerate the abilities of their workers....sometimes outright fabricating them.
they rely on laid-off employees to cover that up by writing detailed guides. if they want to use a bargain-bin workforce, that’s their choice, but they shouldn’t expect people like that to be top-tier or capable in a crisis and we know how often we have them and there is more coming.
Layoffs for “efficiency” = Cover for failing offshoring disaster?
For 5+ years, Wells Fargo has run an ambiguous layoff machine under the banner of “efficiency,” with quarterly severance accruals ($750M–$1B in 2023 alone) and global headcount slashed from ~268,000 (2019) to 217,000 (2024)—a net loss of ~51,000 souls. Meanwhile, India/Philippines ops ballooned: ~10,000 hires during the pandemic, VP-level Risk/Compliance roles offshored (requiring FINRA licenses), and threads here scream “All India Project.” U.S. employees train replacements in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Manila, then get the axe. Identity theft teams to Manila, compliance VPs to India—classic knowledge transfer before the pink slip. RTO mandates, hub consolidations , non-backfill policies, and location strategy force quits or relocations, masking the real goal: cheap offshore labor. It’s the account scandal 2.0—unethical cost-cutting, abuse shifted from customers to employees. No genuine restructuring; just coercion in “wagile” clothing. Signs it’s failing? India hiring freeze + 400 cuts in 2025, Chennai shutdown—optimization after U.S. displacement backfired with expertise loss (EPL flops, SSIS relics, cloud messes). Psychological safety? Zero. Teams? Ghosts. Innovation? Dead. Ethics demand shareholder scrutiny—until the next crisis exposes the rot. Document everything, join Wells Fargo Workers United, file EEOC if biased. Upskill (tuition reimbursement for certs and training), quietly quit, job search—JPMorgan’s building fearless AI teams (30% costs down, 20% sales up). Read The Fearless Organization. My mission: fearless workplaces. There’s a better option! #WellsFargo #OffshoringFail #FearfulBank
Houston office soon to get hit with a round of layoffs?
With whispers of the Blue Hydrogen project pushing out FID, that project keeps the lights on at the Houston office. If the project is mothballed, what other projects are on the horizon to keep the Houston office busy?
With oil prices dropping, green energy subsidies drying up, and large capex projects getting pushed further and further out, its going to be a game of musical chairs to remain billable. I don't see any other way around a wave of layoffs.
Top this off with their new focus on GID/low-cost-center engineering (offshoring) it seems like Worley is gearing up to whack the majority of their Houston engineering division, and have it only be there to simply check the work of GID, and GID will be at the driver seat for most projects.
Am I right, or am I right?
Global Workforce Strategy Manager
ExxonMobil has a person who specifically works with functions to help identify opportunity areas (GBC, MSP) and develop execution plan. So there you have it, a chief leading a team whose sole job is to find opportunities to ship out your jobs. The company is looking out for its interest and so should we.

How’s the ENGINE mentoring going?
New restructure key goal: Mentor ENGINE resources and get laid off!
Thanks Uncle Chevron!
MW Your CEO is Laughing All the Way to the Bank! 😡
While you’re sweating it out, fearing the next round of layoffs, Mike Wirth’s raking in obscene cash $60 MILLION in 2021 (more than 50,000 Ecuadorians combined!), $29 MILLION in 2022, and a fat $32.7 MILLION in 2024 with a smug 19% raise. Meanwhile, your pay’s stuck in the mud. 😒 Chevron slashed 20% of you in February 2025 to “save costs” (boo-hoo, low oil prices), and now they’re plotting to axe 9,000 MORE jobs through 2026. But don’t worry, Wirth’s wallet is safe! 💰
Oh, and guess what? Critics say his bloated paycheck is tied to shipping YOUR IT jobs overseas with H-1B visas, spitting in the face of American workers. All while Chevron funnels millions to Trump-aligned causes. Disgusting. 🤮 Wake up, Chevron your loyalty to greed over employees is pathetic. This is for all you boot licking chevron employees that think you are untouchable….. 🤡#ShameOnChevron #you arejustanumberonaspreadsheet

Sub-Par Company
The usual old folks in higher up positions, that make all the money at Zebra, said how important it is to work from the office by wanting you to come into the office 3 days a week. As usual, companies like this pull this stuff to force you to quit as their new form of layoffs. While they say that they are profiting and growing, we get no significant raises. In fact, raises at Zebra are MUCH LOWER, than other companies. The higher up postions line their pockets, us regular folk barely get any scraps or a good wage to fight this inflation. They also love outsourcing people at Zebra instead of focusing on Americans. American company that doesn't care about Americans. Sub-par benefits, sub-par bonuses, sub-par raises. They try to convice you to only rely on Google Gemini AI summeries as they are heavly shoveling AI down your throat so you don't think for yourself. AI is just a tool that's not even 100% correct... As usual, consume their propagana that, how those higher ups love to think here. Examples of their mindset below:
- Corporate BS = good
come in to the office or else = good - Remote work = bad
- Hire a bunch of overseas people to pay them cheaply and give those people remote work = good
- Give the worst raises and bonuses = good
- Hire postions that track every bit of your time AND don't understand your job so they can try fire you = good
How can these higher ups say they care for their employees when they think like this?

Optum Consumer is a Terrible Place to Work
Optum wants so desperately to be a leader in consumer health, but is COMPLETELY out of touch with consumers. The consumer executives: Rita Kahn, Katie Schumacher, Robbi (ROBERTA) Thatcher have NO idea how to run a best-in-class product org. From process, to roles, to strategy, to roadmaps, etc. It’s a performative executive DEI club. Also recently added: Benson Chan, a waxy-looking self-indulgent Canadian who is a a big phoney and previously fired from Amazon Alexa. These people don’t lead, are not motivating and aren’t close to the work at all. They just repeat the same talking points at town halls. In 2026 they are injecting $55M of new capital into…. wait for it.., a chatbot called “Optum Companion” that doesn’t actually do anything better than before. Do consumers want this? No! But they will stick it everywhere. It’s more tech determinism cr-p being shoveled at consumers, also led by other executive a--hats like Sandeep Dadlani and Julie Durham who are constantly cheerleading on LinkedIn about AI and “100x” to boost their own personal brands/egos. As for the employee experience and culture, it has become a toxic culture of fear and loathing. Constant rounds of layoffs, and ever increasing return-to-office mandates that can be expected to continue until everyone works in MN or India. The market also agrees, and the stock price has lost practically all gains over the last 5 years. “Healthy Optum-ism” is a hilarious new attempt to revive a failing brand, but is so cringe, it’s unbearable. If you survived this latest round of layoffs (read: firing squad), then I wish you luck, but honestly, do you want to work at a soul-su-king place where you’re always looking over your shoulder wondering if your number will be called next. F this place. Let it burn to the ground.
Optum becoming a toxic brand
I have landed a new job after being laid off at Optum (so there is hope and rest assured there is life after Optum). As I meet new colleagues and mention my background the recurring theme is “I have a few buddies over there and all of them are desperately trying to jump ship” or similar. On the other side, I have had job seeking friends and even a recruiter I used in past reach out and say “I am looking at a posting there but I hear it’s just terrible” etc. it seems anecdotally that word has hit the street and if when this offshoring fails and they try to refill in US it might not even be possible to get anyone good.
The race to offshore America!
Job offshoring in the country is gaining momentum at an unprecedented pace. Major companies are making headlines that show it’s no longer confined to lower-level positions — middle and upper management roles are now being transferred to India as well. A striking irony: those who once designed and championed the offshoring strategy may soon find themselves among its casualties. (Some may feel gleeful at that thought.)
How do you stop it? A lot would need to change, but one thing is certain, the leadership that implements this will go down in history as saving society.
Timber! Goes Centene stock price
The company absolutely went down hill after Michael F. Neidorff died. The executives decided to save a little money and offshore to the Philippines. Guess what Centene. Americans don't like talking to foreigners.! We get sc--wed on jobs from H1B's and the companies offshore jobs elsewhere. it cost you your Medicare business and stock price.
GTO to face 30% stateside reduction
Leaders have started meetings this week to address cutting resources, mostly onshore, before eoy to meet 2026 budget and mgcc staffing commitments.
On a similar topic, there continues to be odd conversations about consolidating into a single Cary building which would only be accomplished by more cuts and offshoring.
The future doesn’t look very good for those stateside.
They are doing it again!
Tech support US here.
It seems like we’re seeing a shift in staffing with more roles being filled by people from India. I can’t help but wonder why Dell doesn't consider hiring more people from the US when there are so many qualified candidates ready and willing to work. We’re being told to take ethics courses, which honestly feel more like a chore, yet it seems like the company itself is falling short of its own ethical standards.
It’s clear that the company is gradually moving its US operations overseas, and it’s disheartening to see how this has unfolded. First, we saw changes to our healthcare benefits, and now it feels like the focus is on cheap labor at the expense of loyal workers. It’s tough to continue supporting a company that seems to be disregarding its employees in favor of cost-cutting measures. This needs to be stop.
Offshoring and Ai Joblosses.
Currently there are 250,000 people employed off shore by health insurance companies, In recent history 5000 jobs have been lost to Ai in out industry.
These changes represent increased profit not improved care. Both Democrat and Republican politicians need to step up and stop this. Health insurance companies all take federal dollars and as such it could be mandated that they only employ Americans.
Call, email, write your representative. Get a response, post it here. We nee to know which of these elected officials actually give a damn about us and about American Health care.
New Business Model USA and India
Rumour has it this is the new model , everyone else in any other country is Fcuked !
Layoffs confirmed
Yes more layoffs confirmed 4th quarter some notices already went out. Jobs going overseas.
Cengage has become the joke of the industry
Cengage has gone so far down hill in my 15 years with the company. I used to feel like they actually cared about their employees. I am no longer proud to work here. Why are we not paying a livable wage? Why are we expecting so much out of people who make equal to someone making your fast food order?
What happened to company picnics and showing appreciation to your employees during the busiest time of year? WHY ARE ELEVATE POINTS SO HARD TO GET??? Then when you do get some the amount is just offensive. Cengage eliminated some very important roles and everyone left after is expected to just stay positive and figure it out. What happened to white glove service? Why is there no support or true leadership for the employees? PAY US MORE. stop eliminating roles just to bring people back with a new title and less pay. The customer support over seas is not working either. Bring the jobs back to the US. This company is just getting worse and worse by the day.
Layoffs in EMEA
3rd of November will start Layoffs in EHQ and PTC and week after in ELC. In the meantime, ITC grow rapidly - hundreds of new positions. I have the impression that the company is moving to India. I wonder if it's because Sr LT in GT come from India…
Can we stop already with the AI bullsh-t?
What’s really happening is offshoring and cutting headcount. Once we reach the next “lean” stage and the workload triples, we’ll all discover that no AI actually took on any of the work. At least not in the sense of replacing anyone. I’ve yet to see a model that doesn’t hallucinate or need supervision. Sure, it can speed up some tasks, but that’s it. So can we finally stop using it as an excuse?
Many Being Laid off Today from Optum
If you go over to the Optum Layoff threads you will see that many are being notified today for layoff and as to their last day, which appears to be in January.
Not me but one poster over there posted the following, which I thought was interesting and seems to sound very familiar.
•••
"We already have openings in India to replace people we let go from our team today. This is offshoring." -- This is true and will continue because all at the top has their own bottom line at the expense of employees here is USA, unless government put some check balances these greedy corporate will not stop.“
I bet Prime Minister Narendra Modi is rubbing his hands together regarding all the money his government will take in from American Health Insurance companies. And I know from research that India does a lot of trade with Russia. And a lot of Indian workers work in Arab countries that hate Americans.
Swing and a miss... Really...
This really says it all right here:
we effectively managed Adjusted selling and administrative expenses, offset by softer Insight Core services and hardware performance
Basically they fired more people to try and turn the sinking ship around as it is their only lever to pull when you can't get KrustyBurger to deliver on numbers. You can see in the numbers just how much they are spending in offshoring in EMEA as well as continued offshoring in the US. Buckle up kids, looks like this is the new Insight, slash and burn your way to profit! Keep your heads down and hope that your teammates don't turn on you so that you get tagged in the next on-going episode of "RIF or Sink", coming to you on a major network soon!
