How did Data&AI fare in yesterday's layoffs?

I know Jeff was swinging the axe yesterday and some poor 400 souls got hit sadly. The real question on my mind is did he completely obliterate the Data&AI group or are they still around. I know a director was let go in January/February. I'm just curious if he managed to plug the Data&AI money hole for good...


Has anyone who has been bagged out reached out to an attorney?

If it is true that people who decline the offer to move to the partner will not have an opportunity to collect severance package, how is this legal?? Has anyone reached put to an attorney? The handbook is very clear…you are not eligible for severance package if you decline a position WITHIN the company. The positions being offered are NOT within the company!


Outsourcing to Cognizant is for firing ppl easier, nothing else

In the so called survivor meeting, they claim Cognizant is excellent partner (which is a TOTAL JOKE if you know what WITCH companies are). And they claim scaling up and down will be easier (scaling up is hard, scaling down is easy). They can fire ones easily by bench policy etc. Please, prepare for other plans. You deserve much better.


Best Cost Country

Heard about BCC from Sourcing town hall. Is this 3M saying they will hire and replace in these cheap labor markets? Is this the strategy, hire in OUS and EXPECT US government contracts and customers to ignore? Celebrating US250 this year, shouldn’t this be highlighted and treated accordingly? Maybe I don’t know 3M history well yet, but seems like a giant finger to US and its workers while trying to hide it and simply say they are global.


PosiGen Solar Installer Declares Bankruptcy

PosiGen, a national residential solar installer, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This filing occurred in the Texas Southern Bankruptcy Court on Monday. The company had previously laid off most of its workforce in August. PosiGen also closed facilities in Connecticut and will cease operations there by December 6. The company cited missed credit payments and disappearing tax credits for its financial issues.

For folks being pushed to accepting a job with another company. If your employer has consistently paid severance to employees in the past, in a manner that led you to reasonably believe severance was a part of your employment arrangement. You will need to show which employees got paid, how much, and under what circumstances (for example, when laid off). It is more difficult to prove a contract based on past practices, but if your employer always paid severance to former employees, you may have a plausible claim. An employment lawyer can help you figure out whether you are entitled to severance based on your employer's practices.

Ford - Avoid at All Costs

I worked here for five years, straight out of college, at the time I thought it was normal. Then I moved on to a competitor, and later a supplier. Ford was the worst of the bunch—terribly hostile relationships. I’m hearing from friends at Ford that things have gotten even worse than they were 10 years ago. Reflecting on my past, I must admit that I worked there, but not proud of it. If you’re a college graduate, I strongly advise you to avoid joining at all costs.


Fall of the traditional Dell server

Dell only cares about storage followed by AI servers, nothing else matters. The traditional server business has almost been destroyed and I am guessing that it will soon lose its number one standing in the industry. I am certain that Dell does not care and the people associated to these products will eventually be let go. SAD!!!


Get someone else to host your call

If you can't pause your sniffling long enough to stay something, or mute your mic fast enough so that everyone else on the call doesn't have to hear it. Seriously, offload that responsibility until you are no longer forcing the entire call to hear you sniff every 10 seconds.
