IBM layoffs upcoming!

IBM will silently laying people off after the stock crash... From what I've seen, this is how they do it:

They suddenly label people as "low performers" (making up stories if they have to) and try to push them into quitting.

They put people on PIPs (1–3 month Performance Improvement Plans) and then fire them. The goal seems to be avoiding severance.

They make your work life miserable until you leave on your own.

If you're thinking about joining IBM, I'd honestly look somewhere else. In my experience, the company doesn't have many interesting projects anymore, and management is pretty bad. Most managers have no clue how to lead or manage teams.

Just my opinion based on what I've seen in this company over the years.

Not even Pixar is safe anymore

Pixar Animation Studios, despite riding high on the success of summer blockbuster “Toy Story 5,” was hit particularly hard in a wave of companywide layoffs Tuesday at Disney.

Surprise! Your Leadership may be taking VSP!

I think the biggest surprise will be how many of the PL's everyone has been talking about on here are taking this themselves. I have gotten wind of names of people that have been approved and lots of VP's and Directors that have been around awhile are taking this as an opportunity to leave.

Something I had not considered.

Optimum NY Interconnect operations moving to Spectrum

Spectrum Reach Expands Operations in NY, Continuing to Represent Comcast and Optimum, and Providing Opportunities for Brands to Advertise in Nation's Top Media Market

Key Takeaways:

The move strengthens Spectrum Reach's ability to align operations and deliver enhanced multiscreen campaigns for advertisers seeking to reach consumers at scale in the New York market.
Bringing NYI's product portfolio into Spectrum Reach expands the capabilities, insights and local expertise available to brands and agencies in one of the most important advertising markets in the U.S.

NEW YORK, July 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectrum Reach, the advertising sales business of Spectrum, today announced the expansion of its advertising business to provide many of the products and services of New York Interconnect (NYI), which will cease operations on September 28, 2026. NYI is an advanced advertising joint venture that allows marketers to seamlessly purchase TV and digital ad space across multiple Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (MVPDs) in the New York Designated Market Area (DMA).

With this expansion, Spectrum Reach will streamline operations, reducing handoffs and backend execution steps for a more seamless advertising experience while bringing together its advanced advertising capabilities and scale with NYI's local market strength. The expansion will enable Spectrum Reach to be even better positioned to offer enhanced multiscreen solutions that make it easier for brands to reach the right audiences across the New York media market in the rapidly evolving TV ecosystem.

"We are further strengthening Spectrum Reach and New York Interconnect to create even more value for brands and agencies looking to connect with audiences at scale in New York," said Jason Brown, Executive Vice President, Spectrum Reach. "We are strengthening our market-leading capabilities, local insight and advanced advertising solutions to better serve our clients in one of the most dynamic and influential markets in the country."

In connection with this, later this year, certain members of the NYI team will join Spectrum Reach, creating one unified team focused on supporting advertisers, agencies and marketing partners with seamless service and more powerful media solutions, further positioning NYI's current advertising customers for the future, which is streaming and advanced advertising in addition to traditional TV advertising.

Trump Account Pre-tax Contribution

has anyone seen any info on whether our company will support pre-tax contributions to the new Trump Account, like up to $2,500 pre-tax, similar to a 401k? I haven’t seen any official communication from HR yet, so just wondering if anyone’s heard anything.

nothing matters

the work you do is meaningless. This job is meaningless. They don’t care about you. Go find a better job. This company will never recover from this. They are programming you to endure this type of dystopian workplace nightmare don’t accept it. Run. Layoffs will continue. Org charts are still bloated.

Nike lost the World Cup

What are our marketing teams even doing? Millions of dollars were spent on cramming celebrities into an Ad that made no sense meanwhile adidas’ Ad was everywhere. We couldn’t escape it this World Cup. Who is signing off on these Ads? The London billboard debacle as well was embarrassing. It seems marketing has lost a step. All that effort just for two adidas teams to reach the final is fitting for how Nike’s turnaround has been going

They laid off the whole Portfolio team and replaced it with... nobody

No kidding. These people laid off everyone in Portfolio then pushed their work to teams that have never heard of the product before. Literal people that support things like SiteScope now working Portfolio products with zero training on them. Just two people from my team took like 20 cases. We've been told we can just approve overtime for these cases but im not sure if even that is possible. Worst run company I have ever worked in, it was literally better when I worked at an outsourcing company.
