Sheri Bronstein knew about the hours analyst were working and did nothing. We told her that is how i know ut us true.

Why is she still here? She failed in her most precious task and i see her on LinkedIn accepting paid for bogus awards "best HR person" at some HR boondoggle in Orlando or Phoenix with a bunch of HR Eco chamber id--ts. Sheri did you pay for those trips or did the company?
Brian, she has no credibly or trust with the workforce.

Oracle Layoffs - My Experience

I want to share my experience of the layoff process at Oracle. I was RIF'd in September 2025. I worked for Oracle for 17 years: 7 years in the UK and then transferred to the US for personal reasons (my wife is American and we wanted to be closer to family). Oracle made that move so much simpler and for all the bad things I will forever be grateful to Oracle. During my time in the US I was relatively high achieving within my team and had carved out a unique and critical DevOps role within my team. It wasn't rocket science, but it was unique and critical and I thought it gave me some protection against a RIF. On the Tuesday before I was RIF'd (Wednesday) I attended a meeting with my VP, Senior Director, Director (I was IC4) and we were planning for some business critical work that coming weekend. This is relevant as no one in those positions had any idea it was coming or we would not have been wasting our time on that planning meeting! The following morning we had another meeting (Oracle and their meetings...) and the VP didn't show up... the senior director didn't show up... the director and the ICs all showed up. I then got wind of something being up around 30 mins after the meeting as people were starting to disappear on Slack. I messaged my Director and he was talking to me on the phone and then he excused himself and had to drop for an urgent meeting that had just shown up in his calendar. He messaged me 10 minutes later to say that he had been RIF'd and his access was going to go away and gave me his personal email and said he was there to help however things worked out (great guy). Then around 30 mins later I received an email from my EVP. It was a boilerplate job and basically said "Today is your last day with Oracle, so long and thanks for all the fish". My Slack etc carried on working and in fact all my access continued working, that struck me as super d-mb.... I didn't do anything with that access but others might not have been so responsible! Around 2 hours later I was locked out of everything and was left numb walking off into the sunset. I received my severance on schedule and that was that. It all just felt very sloppy and isn't the way I would have handled it. An email after 17 years just felt a lot like a "F U". My entire org was laid off (bar a couple a of guys to keep the lights on - who wants to be that guy!!) so it was obviously not personal but it just felt so sloppy.

What if.....

What if you were told, "we are going to lay you off, should have been done already, but we have too much work at the moment. So, we need you here to do the work then we will lay you off."
This has actually happened in Tech under BT's watch.
The question is, would you put in 100% and do your best, or would you say "scr3w it, I'm marking my time since they don't want me"?
I think I'd be in the latter group. Having been told that is extremely harsh and super bad for morale. (although I don't think they care about morale)
What about the co-workers? How do you even face each other knowing the axe is hanging above heads?

Solventum = ZimmerBiomet 2.0

1.) Hire exec. team of highly compensated "friends" to virtue signal
2.) Create us vs 'them' environment
3.) Have numerous employee indoctrination meetings
4.) Spin-off non core businesses
5.) Quarterly lay-offs of 'them'
6.) Complain that Bryan isn't Chairmen of the Board

Rinse and repeat.

Dell Derangement Syndrome (DDS)

A rare but rapidly spreading condition triggered when Michael Dell logs on, drops a “Go American” post, and starts sounding like he just got off a call with Donald Trump.

Symptoms include:

Immediate emotional spiral on internal boards

Writing a 9-paragraph manifesto no one asked for on the layoff site

Saying “this isn’t political” while being extremely political

Refreshing comments like it’s the stock ticker during earnings

Advanced stages:

Convincing yourself every product launch is now a campaign rally

Interpreting supply chain updates as coded political messaging

Believing your PowerEdge server has a voting preference

Diagnosis:
A corporate variant of Trump Derangement Syndrome but with more acronyms, fewer facts, and way worse comment sections.

Treatment:
Log off
Touch grass
Stay off layoff sites until mild sedation sets in

RTO - New Requirements. Is it True?

6-Hour Minimum Requirement for In-Office Time
Effective immediately (although April 1 is a start date)
Reporting will look for 8 hours but minimum is 6 hours
No exceptions (unless people are out of office for sick time, vacation, approved leave, etc.)
You can’t extend the hours throughout the week; it must be a minimum of 3 days/week, 6 hours/day
Absolutely no gaming the system — anyone caught doing this will be terminated immediately
New Info
No announcement will be made
Applies to every employee even if their management hasn’t told them about it
3 full days/week does mean 12 days/month, although 11 still meets the 90%+ requirement
Reports have already been sent to level 4 leaders for where things stand today
Minimum of 6+ hours in office does not mean people only have to work 6 hours/day

This will haunt FIS for years to come

This is so messed up and it's going to cost us so much in the long run. So much knowledge is about to walk out the door and there's no real plan on how to mitigate it. There's also loss in reputation and resentment from people who were transferred against their wishes. Bad decisions all around.

Telecommuters

Anyone else have people in their office pack stuff up, and told they’re being moved to telecommuter status?

I am in the Richardson office and a large number of people were abruptly told we’re moving to telecommuter. I’m happy, but don’t understand the urgency or the decision process.

Why is this so hard for employees to understand?

Oracle employees always seem to conveniently forget that Oracle is run by a malignant narcisist. Narcisists enjoy the chaos created by pitting their underlings against one another. This is a behavioural fact.

So stop with all the questions of why management does this or that. The answer is that this is Oracle's company culture; derived directly from the sick individual at the top.

Furthermore, it isn't just the hand-wringing of the poor ICs that he enjoys, but the same reaction is taking place through all ranks of management, with almost no exception.

Layoffs happening today 3/27

Several on my team received invites for 10am call today - no agenda. Peer was informed a few teams are moving offshore. They are only keeping a few leaders on a few more weeks to shift the work to OGS. WHY is this continuing to happen??? How can so many people keep losing their jobs? The ‘new’ jobs posted online are bogus & aren’t being filled. Don’t waste your time applying. It’s all smoke & mirrors. SMDH

Princeton University has frozen senior faculty salaries and cut departmental budgets. President Christopher Eisgruber warned that more cuts are coming. Nine staff members from the Keller Center for Innovation were recently laid off. The university faces financial pressure due to rising healthcare costs and lower endowment returns. The hot air balloon flew over but no $$$150,000.00 $$$ fell out.

Looks like it got popped and fell to the ground with an empty basket. Let the ones who fought for your good wages and100% paid healthcare( The Union ) keep your basket full and quit counting on those who care nothing for you. All deals must go thru The Union first.
