Dan and his crew are fear mongers themselves.

Across my career, leadership has pulled the same tired scare tactics… threatening people with unemployment, dangling PIPs, and handing out code-of-conduct write-ups like candy. It’s always the same script: intimidate the workforce and hope fear keeps everyone quiet.

Then Dan strolls in and casually tosses out ‘layoffs’ like it’s his fun fact of the day. Another pressure play. Another attempt to make people sweat.

Well, on behalf of every corporate employee who’s done being toyed with: Dan, you can’t threaten us with a good time. I’m not lurking on this forum because I’m scared of losing my job. I’m here waiting on my check. And honestly? Even if you don’t lay me off, I’m out the door after my FMLA anyway.

Non-Compete and Severance Clauses

For those that are impacted by the reduction in force, please check or have someone go over the severance agreement to see if there's a timeframe set for a non-compete clause. This would include verbiage regarding a timeframe of which you may be illegible for employment by a similar company offering a similar or slightly different role. While some states do have limitations on this, please exercise due diligence.

Example: You may be barred from working in a telecom or similar company for a period of six months before they would consider hiring you. You would go through the whole interview process, but then get hung up during the final selection due to this.

THERE IS LIFE AFTER VERIZON

Heard about the big rif coming...
The company is sinking, and they are doing whatever they can to save the investors.

Keep in mind.

Your manager does not care as long as its not them
The company does not care, you are a number.
You will find something else, and be much happier.
The company is NOT what it once was, greed and horrible management along with the BS surrounding the whole COVID and WFH was the icing on the cake.
Hans ruined Erickson, did the same to VZ
Stores are useless....and a total waste of money.

If you were smart, you took advantage of the education allowance and got a degree or did training on their dime to enhance your knowledge to take it somewhere else.

good luck, you'll be fine

Nokia wants to cut 427 jobs in France

"According to our information, Nokia France wants to remove 427 jobs using the collective conventional termination procedure. According to a union source, this represents nearly a fifth of the workforce, which amounts to about 2 300 employees at its sites in Massy (Essonne) and Lannion (Côtes-d’Armor)."

I hate how the NDA project got pushed back a quarter because I feel that's going to affect EVERYTHING

It was supposed to go live in February however, I guess sh!t didn't get done fast enough or something, and has been pushed back a quarter. I think it's May or something now, idfk... JC literally said "to be clear, this won't be pushed back further." - aka if it's not, heads will be flying.
At least that's what I've been told by someone who is part of the NDA thing, so i dont know how true this actually is.
but this NDA thing has been Dell's NUMBER 1 PRIORITY for the last year and so I'm worried because it got pushed back, this will affect raises, or even cause more layoffs than usual in Feb.

Are we still going to be working after the announcement?

So if we are told on Thursday that we are being let go are we done that day or are they going to keep us working for another month after the announcement? The last round of mass layoffs that happened in 2023 they announced the layoffs in May, but kept all those employees until August or October depending on what group you were in. Just wondering if it will be immediate or if they will expect us to continue on for another 30 or 60 days before we are done.

How it's done

Affected employees will receive phone calls between 8-10am, and survivors will get about a 45 minute heads-up for a 15 minute “business update” meeting where HR and ADs or above tell you who was let go. This usually occurs about 11am.

If you’re let go, you’ll likely get to leave work early on Thursday and won’t be expected to come in on Friday.

CEO takes bad loans for board

..cant pay them back.
Lays off 600+ so far to print artificial money.
Outsources IT to TCS with sub-par knowledge, skillsets, and abilities.
The organization eats the people that made it great, rewards and protects thr managerial, director, and vp branches. - hires a buzzword artist that has ties to Indian based TCS.. and guts the company just like he did at Shell.
The bowl is swirling.
Firesale is imminent.
Wouldn't doubt there being a SEC investigation or two in the future.
