I’m hoping our team is next. Seriously our team serves no purpose to be fair. It could be done by other departments or really just an automation in the system. It’s not survival it’s just the truth. Not sure why they even made this team as it doesn’t even make sense. Literally here collecting until the end because it pays something while looking elsewhere.

GAME OVER - AES Acquisition by BlackRock – Key Implications
AES has been acquired by BlackRock and will become a private company as part of the consortium. As a result, corporate policies and governance frameworks are expected to be reviewed and revised to align with the new ownership structure.
The existing severance or “poison pill” arrangements will apply only to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members. Regular employees affected by the acquisition may not have the same level of defined protection, and further clarity will be needed regarding transition support.
The service organization is expected to undergo restructuring and may potentially be dismantled in order to drive efficiencies and leverage the holding company’s existing processes and infrastructure.
Operational independence will be established, with each entity managed individually under the new structure.
As a private company, AES will no longer be subject to public company reporting requirements. Financial management and oversight will operate under a different governance model, with reduced regulatory burden and streamlined processes compared to public market standards.
Stock together
Why is no one talking about how stock together was removed without notice or a heads up. Make sure your paying attention to your 3% raises, ST is gone.
CEO Mike Lyons and this MC hold the record for value destruction!
Mike you can blame Frank all you want but $62 is on you buddy! You were a rookie who was unprepared and you destroyed $100B in Market Cap! Congratulations on holding the that record, surely puts you in the top 5 of worst CEOs ever! By the way why is Chris Foskett still here riding around on the jet! The guy does nothing. What big account has he brought on in three years. As Revenue head he has lost a ton of business in last two years.
AI job shrinkage
Did you know that United is licensing AI software from Amazon? This software allows call center representatives in other countries to speak, and it alters the tonality and accent of the voice. This is to prevent American citizens from knowing they are speaking with a representative overseas.
The AI takeover to move jobs overseas is already happening. You just don’t know it yet.
Keeping incompetent staff and mgrs
I’d like to know the logic upper mgmt and the executive committee has about letting go of good tenured staff for bullsh-t reasons such as wfh status they caused while thinking the company will benefit greatly from staff and mgrs who cant do sh-t and dont know sh-t? The level of stupidity up top is embarrassing. The company has gone down jill drastically since Robin stepped in. No way people outside this company dont know this

San Marcos Unified Approves Layoffs, Librarians Spared
The San Marcos Unified School District board considered staff reductions. The district faces a $10 to $11 million budget deficit next year. A proposal to reduce elementary school librarians' hours was blocked. However, layoff notices were approved for about 17 teachers, social workers, and counselors. Those with skills will always have options.
If you’re in tech all is not lost, gloom and doom and all that jazz. There are other companies out there outside of finance and banking that also use AD, exchange, sharepoint, SQL, firewalls, linux, unix, routers, switches, vm’s etc….
Citi is not the only company on the planet that ever uses these things.
Finance is not the only sector on the planet that ever uses these things.
Expand your job search as this ship is sinking. It’s always mystified me that people will job search with only the big banks and call it a day, “there’s nothing out there and I know that as I searched the big 3 banks and didn’t find anything. No use to look any further elsewhere. I guess I’m just stuck at Citi.”

Verizon CEO Dan Schulman - Verizon
…And if you can’t “imagine,” Verizon CFO Tony Skiadas provided more clarity.
“Noncore areas that are not aligned to growth, including legacy areas, are being significantly reduced and/or eliminated, and that includes areas such as business wireline, nondirectional products, technology as well, wholesale, legacy copper, and voice platforms, and even projects with too long of a payback,” Skiadas explained.
Verizon’s management noted that it will instead invest in its mobile and broadband offerings.
Job cuts continue
Verizon is also continuing to work through its extensive job cuts, which will quickly see the carrier slash 13,000 total jobs in short order.
Skiadas noted that Verizon slashed just over 10,000 jobs by the end of 2025, which pushed the carrier’s total employee base down to just under 90,000 total employees. Verizon plans to finish the latest culling by the end of March.
Those cuts were made official in November, with Verizon noting in a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing that it would take a severance charge of up to $1.8 billion during the current fourth quarter tied to the cuts. Verizon’s filing also noted that the carrier “expects that its cost reduction efforts will include a significant reduction in outsourced, contracted, and other outside labor expense.”
The job cuts were initiated by Schulman shortly after he assumed leadership last October.

Lots of smaller potatoes as well in their shareholder evisceration stew.
Each of those two Dolt Headed CEO's will walk or have walked from their tenures with $250M each and all the perks.
Remember executive compensation is never linked to share price at ATT. Just metrics that are easily manipulated and massaged.
In the new Strategy Learning, no layoffs
The new course on SAP Strategy is really inspiring. I love the presentation given by SS.
And there are no layoffs mentioned. Looks like we can all breathe freely this year.
Corporate Workforce Size — 2026 Estimate?
I read that the corporate workforce was around 6,500, which felt surprisingly low for Walgreens. That figure was from 2021. What do you think the corporate headcount is now? Above or below 5,000? That still seems incredibly low to me.
Layoffs next month

Layoff rumors break hearts
There aren’t going to be layoffs, that would actually solve a problem. Fidelity will not do that.
Optum will moving all jobs from US to India soon
In 2025, Optum India is significantly expanding its footprint and innovation capabilities, highlighted by a new 500,000-square-foot office in Chennai and the launch of its first innovation center in Gurugram.
Executive board DEI layoffs!
Because of pressure from the US administration, SAP stopped most DEI programs in 2025. And now, two. Executive Board members will “step down” or “not renew contracts”.
Gina is a woman and was compassionate towards trans employees so she’s gone. We will not see a female executive board member for a long long time.
Alam is a person of color and not a Christian. He is gone as well. We will not see a person of color or a non-Christian in the executive board anytime soon.
In any case, LGBT members never make it to important positions within SAP so we won’t see them in the executive board either.
They needed Gina only to bring performance management and destroy most of the employee benefits. And they needed Alam to initiate multiple reorganizations after Juergen Müller was given the boot.
What changes do you think will happen in teams now? Will they only consider white Christian males for leadership roles from now on? And what about LGBT employees? Is SAP starting a program to remove all migrant employees in Germany? The demands from the US administration are pretty straightforward and the SAP board has done nothing but comply.
What are you hearing.
Does anyone have any information on upcoming RIF or VSP? Please share what you know.
Any word on next week?
Are we looking at more cuts, or finally a break?
Staying on high alert, no matter what
Assume the worst, regardless of what you're told. Layoffs might be over, but don't act like it. This is my second takeover. The first was a nightmare, for me and the company. I'm lining up options and staying ready. Things can go sideways in an instant, with no notice at all.
When are those major layoffs supposed to hit?
Everyone's saying it'll be more than the 5% they mentioned, but nobody seems to have details. At least I haven't heard anything concrete.
Word of advice - never, ever relocate for a job
Most definitely not here. They treat us worse than disposable, and that's already rock bottom. Don't fall for the pay, the promises, or the fear tactics. Your odds of being let go soon after moving are way higher than the move ever working out.
We've been cut down to the bare bones here
It's nearly impossible to keep up with the workload. My team lost more people in the latest round. Does anyone actually consider whether teams can still function when making these cuts? Sure doesn't feel like it.
Anyone heard anything new about layoffs?
Rumors are flying about cuts tied to the reorg, but I've got nothing solid. Some layoffs make sense with any reorganization, but folks are talking about a big round. If you know something real, please share.
We've become a textbook sinking ship
No one's even pretending to steer anymore. Just managed decline, slow and steady. Layoffs forever, now reaching offshore too. There's hardly any core left, both among employees and leadership, that could pull off a turnaround, if that was ever the plan. Am I off base here?
Are the Durham layoffs separate from the 6K cuts?
From what I gather, these are standalone, triggered by the steep drop in Gardasil sales. Given where things are headed, I'm worried we'll see more layoffs beyond the announced targets. It's terrifying, really, especially with the industry-wide contraction in jobs.
