people begging to be laid off

Unless you are ready to retire or have other financial means, calling BS on a golden ticket. It take an average of two weeks for every year of experience to find a new job. The severance here for most people will be just enough to find another role. If your skills were that valuable you would have found a new higher paying job instead of waiting for a “golden ticket”

U.S. severance???

Can anyone who's been let go recently ACTUALLY CONFIRM the severance package given and your job designation? A3 A4 D2 D4 ETC?

I'm not asking what you think, what you've heard or what the documents in SharePoint say, is there someone with a real world experience that can definitively say what their experience was and if its a lump sum or ongoing payments until it runs out

Still waiting on “proof” that those caught in the Nov 20 cuts would have ALL outstanding RSU vest.

Basically, someone stated that the Nov 20 layoff was some kind of exception to the prorated RSU treatment that involuntary separations receive.

That those caught in this particular wave would have all future years (the two tranches for 2027 and the one for 2028) vest upon separation.

Any truth in this?

Look at it this way

From an APJ perspective, these layoffs, while difficult, were long overdue. For years, the company carried excessive overhead in the US and Europe: overstaffed legacy teams, prolonged decision-making processes, and limited focus on high-impact delivery.
The reductions have created a leaner organization. APJ teams are now stepping up significantly, delivering intelligent, efficient work on cloud and AI initiatives at a much faster pace while headquarters adapts to the new structure.
For those affected by the layoffs: if performance or adaptation lagged, the cuts were inevitable in a competitive market. Rather than endless complaints in forums, the focus should shift to skill development or new opportunities.
The company is now more agile and better positioned for growth in 2026. APJ continues to drive strong execution. It is time to contribute meaningfully or move on.

December Layoff Separation Letter

I know there’s a good bit of you on here that were let go in early December and were sent that BS separation letter to sign. My question is: if we agreed to sign it, that meant we stayed “employed” until March 31st and that would be our last day of employment and can sign up for unemployment on April 1st.

My question is: Since March 31st is our last day of employment, we would receive a final paycheck on April 15th, correct?

Retirements, hmmm

Odd that people are announcing retirements that haven’t discussed it before… I had my job eliminated and was given the choice to say if I was retiring or not. I responded with “just tell people what you did” rather than deal with colleagues congratulating me on retirement when it is really a termination. Is this a company tactic to make them look better?

30/70 employee ratio

I just got out of a meeting where my VP made it pretty clear that by end of this year, he wants a 30:70 employee ratio between USA and HIH. There was another thread here talking about this, but seems to have been deleted (I didn't know layoff.com deleted threads).

We are given a timeline now to make this happen and get our ratios aligned to this goal. I wonder how long before our turn to have our job be offshored.

Your Layoff Notification

We're all going to be laid off as soon as the company possibly can do so, if not sooner, because we're all being replaced via automation, off-shoring and outsourcing. I'm just grateful to have the nice termination package per labor contract for when the inevitable day comes when my position is surplussed.

Do you want to be laid off?

Sometimes it feels like people are rooting for layoffs with the way they keep predicting them. Every other post tries to guess the date, as if saying it enough will make it happen. When something is official, we will hear about it. Until then, maybe stop tempting fate.

How to get layed off?

I survived another round of layoffs and am not happy about it. Any tips or tricks for how to get let go? I quiet quit back in 2022 and have been doing less than half the amount of work that I did previously. I am constantly in the bottom 3 on my team performance wise. I just want my famn severance package already!
