More layoffs in March and more executive board bonuses

If there are indeed layoffs, they will only be for employees who joined in the acquisitions or employees on mid range salaries. Developers, QA, support engineers and product managers will be fired but never HRBP or development managers with complaints against them. There are many employees who continue to be very highly paid and keep getting a higher salary and more stock options every year. That's because they get it once in March and their network triggers a reorganisation in the middle of the year where they get promoted or have a role change. In all my years at SAP, I have seen this happen all the time and this is only intensifying since the talk about layoffs. So even if there are any layoffs, expensive employees who should be laid off will still be there and those that deserve or do more will be asked to leave or be given such a pitiful salary increment and bad performance that they will have to leave. Also, you can expect only employees from Walldorf and St Leon-Rot to head all important positions in the new acquisitions and in other locations. No matter where most of the team members are, the managers will almost always be based in Walldorf and St Leon-Rot now. And once the back to office shenanigans start they will give a bad performance to any report who isn't based in their location.

Regarding executive bonuses, the executive board will get them. They have the supervisory board in their pocket and the Works Council is too powerless to revolt or strike or do anything about it. CK got €18 million as a bonus in addition to his salary when he vowed to fire 10000 employees. And if the supervisory board wanted to keep him in check, they would have given that as stock options and not in cash. But they gave him cash. He and most of the executive board members will live comfortable lives even if they have to resign or leave now. But they will squeeze every million out of SAP before they go. A lower share price only means that they will intensify layoffs. And the entire SAP strategy is based on AI and a complete shift from the core business. If AI fails, SAP will lose everything. But the board is too incompetent to come up with any real strategy or an alternative plan in case AI is a bubble. There is no real SAP strategy besides 'build only AI features and make customers pay more' and 'lay off as many employees as possible to reduce short term operating costs'. That is sufficient for them to squeeze money off SAP and leave. Most employees don't realize that the money that is given to the executive board comes from the savings by laying employees off and from reducing their benefits and salary appraisals budget. It is like blood money. But CK, Dominik Asam and others have so many fans within SAP, they will do anything for them. The future is truly lost now and there is no hope.

Converse closing a dozen or so stores

I’ve been told that Converse retail is in a huge downward spiral. A dozen or so stores are being closed in the coming months and the stores that remain open barely have any product on their shelves. The person I know believes even the profitable stores are being closed when the leases are up. Anyone know anything else from the Converse-side of things?

Already burnt out at the start of my career

I actually like the work I do, but the conditions are wearing me down fast. We're constantly short-staffed, people leave every month, people get laid off all the time, and the pay just doesn't make up for the stress. It's making me seriously question if I should stick with this entire field. Does it ever get better, or is this just how it is everywhere?

Shell Chemical Earnings..time to look for a new job

Just looked at the earnings for Shell’s chemical business coming up and margins dropped from 160 to 140 a metric ton, obviously giving the business a significant loss on top of the business already struggling. I think this is pretty much the last straw and Shell will either be closing or fire selling all chemical assets to stop the bleeding. Any thoughts?

Layoffs in ecosystem, sales? Vegas?

I hear about massive layoffs in ecosystem and also some in sales here in the EU. How do others see it? What is the strategy here? Do not suppose Andy is going to explain much next week in Vegas. He-l we will see how the event will look like, my ecosystem coleagues went got garden leave and had to cancel their flights. They just found out this week.

Warner Should've Swiped Left

Poor Warner Media. I was just reading about how messed up WBD is following the AT&T debacle and I was wondering to myself, 'what went so wrong'. So, like a true att employee, I asked Google. Funny thing is that the problems that ki-led what should have been the deal of a lifetime are still here!

Financial mismanagement, soaring debt, cultural and social conflicts, strategic failures, poor leaders and inconsistent leadership, execution & delivery problems, and, att's goto optimization strategy, layoffs!

It is shameful to think that the same leaders who destroyed a film industry pioneer are doing the same thing to a telecom pioneer and we are watching it happen in real time. I hope i'm wrong but I believe this Plano relo will be the final nail in the coffin for AT&T. Our leadership knows what they are doing. Think about this, we are sitting on $140 BILLION in debt.

Put in in perspective. When you are in debt, what do you do? You tighten the belt. Cut some cost, cancel some streaming services. Do you sell your house? Maybe, but that's like the last ditch effort. Let me remind you of an old company called Sears Roebuck. Remember them? They were on top of the world and had this iconic skyscraper. Then, things started unraveling. Sears tried to acquire businesses but was never able to capitalize. They tried pushing their brand on everything and everywhere. Soaring debt sent them to a large corporate park on the outskirts of Chicago. Sears was a blue-chip, dividend market leader. They were literally the amazon of the 20th century. They even had a sports stadium. Where are they now? 5 stores, a website, distribution agreements, and a brand that they pray someone, someday, will want to reboot.

There's your future, people. We are Sears.

Sorry Warner. Best of luck.

Waiting for my lottery ticket numbers to be called.

Its a sad state of where the company is today, when most people I talk with now are no longer scared of being laid off, they are actually hoping for it. Most people now are hoping their number is called like we are waiting for the lottery numbers to be published. Hand me my check and I'll be on my way! Staying behind and taking on more work for the same pay is actually the negative part of this, not getting laid off. The lucky ones get their papers and get a chance to breath and find what's next!

Switch to non-exempt contract / HZO / GER

Last year, I was informed that I would have to switch to a non-exempt contract because the salary limit had been exceeded with the last agreed increase. Has anyone else received this? It gave me the impression that they wanted to get everyone from the old collective contracts. Has anyone refused this?

I've made the decision

Made it through the last round of RIFs but decided to retire if I'm not RIFed in 1Q2026. No reason to keep training people who can't follow instructions. No reason to have output that is ignored or manipulated. No reason to appease yet another new department "leader" who is begging to be propped up to collect a huge salary.

It is time to go. Fortunately for me, having been through years of RIFs, we saved CASH all along the way and have a few years salary in the bank. Health insurance taken care of too. Time to look for something new after a break from VZW. I had a good 24 year run.

I said it before, I'll say it again ...

Thing is, they lay off all your closest colleagues (various departments) until they ki-l off the business, leaving the few remaining staff overworked, disengaged and depressed. Then they say we can only recruit more people when we grow the business. And so the downward spiral continues (a bit like the share price).

Burlington Layoffs

Can anybody share details about how this went down? Was it one-on-one calls or a mass Teams invite like the one in July 2024?

The intel on this site has been incredible.

This should not have surprised anyone, but it’s devastating nonetheless.

We, the peasants, have formed a fortified army against the corrupt management team.

TFB layoffs

Looks like it’s all k-12 teams let go, 60% of SE’s, the entire SDR team, both directors for federal gov and half the AE’s in the federal gov space. It’s a bloodbath and it doesn’t seem to be ending yet. What happened to “we aren’t Verizon”? Clearly we’re worse because this hung over our heads for weeks before actually coming to fruition. It’s a special kind of cruel.

Layoffs to be completed by 2/11

D-mb d-mb is supposed to announce the direction he’s taking the company as the new CEO on Capital Markets Day, 2/11/26. This day also aligns to Q4 results announcements.

Downstream Impacts to Enterprise Reimagined

I am curious. How many of you who survived the layoffs and still come to this page are witnessing catastrophic consequences to leadership decisions to eliminate departments, capabilities or expertise? How many of these have serious regulatory components or are millimeters away from causing harm to our branch teams?

For example, a department was eliminated in Enterprise Learning that updates all the online learning modules. We can’t seem to get courses fixed in the learning management system that branch teams need to gain access to their branch desktop or other important applications. I know several associates who have tried to raise this issue but their leaders don’t care because they have “more important fish to fry.”

In another important area, data governance was eliminated so that our AI is now fishing in a corrupt pond of data. But the push to use AI in the home office is intense.

Records and Information management has completely disappeared. There are no guard rails, well, anywhere. And the firm just hit an iceberg. At least, that’s what it feels like.

What are you seeing?

Yes, Jan 15th is the day

At least is was my friend who is in management and not tapped on the shoulder who confiscated my laptop and walked me to the door.
In layoffs past there was more decorum. Now you're just a suspected te------t that could do harm to the company. (yes, they say it)
I was rushed out and didn't see the email, but word was 700 company wide.
As the third overlord of our site, ONSEMI has by far the worst company culture.

Let the layoffs set the pace.

It’ll be hard as pressure will be applied under the guise of “meet the goal or else” but just put in 8 hours per day…..ONLY. Let the days of 50-60 hours per week be a thing in the past. Those of you who did work like that last year, what did you get out of it? No increase in comps, possible layoff and if you survive more work to pick up the slack.

Don’t do it out of anger or spite. Just let the layoff set the pace going forward. Clock in, work, go home. 8 hours only, no more, no less.

If you grind hard, you get let go.
If you do just enough to keep from getting fired, you still may be let go but its not quite as bitter as putting in tons of extra hours and then getting the axe.
