Leg T Layoffs Coming

Talk going around today between Dallas and Atlanta is that it's cheaper to pay off Leg T union employees to get rid of them rather than keep them on the payroll considering high costs, high absenteeism, low productivity and trainability as well as non-collaberative attitudes. It's being agreed on by top leadership that it's much cheaper and far more easy to pay the termination pay per contract, and now that the watermark is no longer an obstacle, the first step will be to declare surplus which means VTP will be offered without a cap. This is expected to reduce the Leg T workforce by at least half. The remaining will be Involuntarily laid off by year end as all Leg T work is automated, outsourced and off-shored.

Managers

If you haven't heard the latest... if your employees do not show up to work it will result in your termination. If you want to stay... God knows why.. step down as a manager... if you are on your way out watch yourself and your employees like hawks. They're beginning to clean house after this round of notifications

Should Q have kept my RSUs award?

I was fired from Qualcomm and they canceled my RSUs award plan.

I know probably they can cancel the RSUs I was awrded at the time of joining the company because those were tied to me keeping the job. But was right that they also canceled the stocks in was awarded after AR25? Were those tied to me keeping the job?

There is no NRE protection anymore.

i will try to be brief. I was dpced last year in nov and then told I failed the dpc and now was on a pip. The pip was very similar with a few things added. I failed dpc in dec and failed pip in feb 2026. I was 53 years old with 17 years in. I was constantly asked to leave on my own and take the pil during the dpc and pip. I was told in the beginning that exxon was trying to help me to get to retirement age. I complained to hr and of course got no help from them. If I knew i was doomed I would not have tried as hard as I did and just left. Everything I did was not good enough according to the supervisor. I was told it was not the work but that I was not a good fit for exxon anymore. I left with no medical and lump sum payout. I am getting unemployment right now and pondering on whether to retire or keep working. There are no guarantees any more so treat exxon like a year to year contract job. I would not have stayed as long and suffered if I knew this outcome. Give exxon the loyalty they give their employees none. There was another who was fired during their dpc and was nre as well. Anyway I hope this helps those in their 50's decide and I am done with exxon.

Termination due to sales/consulting quota not met

Question: HR and manager did read my termination blurb. During the call announce they will pay severance which appears to cover about 3 months of salary. Great since I was about to leave anyway to join a startup.
I imagine there is no stock acceleration typically offered correct?
Question:
I recall something about Cobra. Not sure I would need to pay premiums. Not interested in that since I can join wife excellent medical plan instead.

Severance packages are being scaled back in favor of terminations

In 2026 WF is moving the cost of severance packages to the line of business. LOBs are not funded for this cost and will instead force terminations through low performance reviews. Displacements will be delayed as each LOB works through this process. This is so sad, many good people will be forced out due to 'low performance' who truly deserve a package.

Questions ahead of tomorrow

I'm new here, I'm stressing and unable to sleep, so please humor me. How are people notified? I know there's an email notification, but is it then a meeting just with your manager, HR, or somebody else? Is it a whole group at once or one by one? Are people terminated immediately or do you have to stay on for a few weeks? I'm just trying to figure out what to expect.

Wfh employees

All full time remote employees are being terminated by EOY by sc-mbags who put every one of us in a wfh status while keeping offices closed and sitting empty. We have been treated like we aren't employees here, segregated from everything and everyone, blocked from getting promotions and given false ratings on reviews which includes those not full time as well sc--wing all of us out of merit and jobs as well. Theres no way this is legal cause it goes beyond being “at will”. You dont have to go to these extremes in that case
