LR and reality

This will be different. There is a serious downturn happening and this LR will be hard. be supportive of people as this could be a very long term issue globally. be kind and respectful.

Finance: worst is yet to come?

Scott scheduled an all hands one month from now with HR finance (two people consultants and someone from HR). Salary cuts across the board? Any insights? The people consultants threw me. Any other orgs get something similar?

Focus on things that are in your control

I can imagine how everyone is feeling right now. I went through similar anxiety and fears when I was at Cisco. What helped me overcome this was taking action while I was still employed - starting my job search and taking courses to expand my skills... — read more

What to say on the call if Im on the LR list monday

I dont want to give the slightest sign I care about being layed off here. I really feel that since this is a bi-yearly thing I will be better off getting severance and having time to relax and job hunt rather than find a new job anyway and quit ASAP... — read more

CX Layoffs

We have been hearing that CX field team swill get impacted well. CSEs need to watch out. There is buzz here in APJC that in CX Americas there will be multiple VPs and Directors getting impacted. I guess nobody is safe. We know there are so many... — read more

Experienced Layoff Team

Chukie and Fran - Chufran or Frukie I just had an insight, you have a future after cisco. You will always be the experienced layoff team at cisco. Getting us to come here like a well oiled machine with mind bending LR numbers. Now you have Scottie... — read more

All Hands on 16th Early Morning

I got all hands invitation from my senior director on 16th early morning. What does it mean we all under him are impacted?

It'll soon be over

One way or another. At least we'll know where we stand. That's the only thing that comforts me right now.

Grass is greener

I was part of the February 2024 layoff (last day with Cisco was April 15th). My 1st reaction was a mix of frustration, anger and lack of trust and loyalty. I gave myself 48 hours to feel whatever I wanted to feel then committed to a disciplined... — read more

LR and Stagflation

Double whammy JPMorgan Chase CEO has laid out the "worst outcome" for America's economic future, beyond recession … stagflation

World is not stopping

Folks, don’t worry or take stress. World is not stopping. It’s just until elections all these layoffs will happen. After that again the economy will grow and companies will start hiring. Enjoy the time with family and friends. Don’t think much.. it... — read more

Monday 16th…

…first day of the rest of your lives. Honestly in 12 months time you will be on here stating “it was best thing that happened to me… “ Good luck and best wishes to everyone. You’ll be ok.

No LRs

Think about it, if there were no LRs a lot of the ELT and VPs would be out of a job. It’s obvious they are not making profits like the competition so their next trick is to layoff workers to look good for the board.

Different types of companies

Some companies go all out to take care of their employees and make sure to do whatever they can to avoid layoffs or at least keep them to a minimum. Then you’ve got the ones that jump on any so-called "crisis" as an excuse to lay off as many people... — read more

Calls on your calendar this Monday

I am curious how many received an invite on their calendar for Monday ; that would surely ruin the weekend. i am wondering if they send the invites the day of very early on Monday

PTO today

So I decided last minute to take PTO today. I’m in SJ and just can’t focus. The feelings are similar to knowing you have a funeral to go to next week and you feel helpless. This has been so stressful and honestly I’m not sure if I can handle it. PTSD — read more

If you can, enjoy the weekend

It's not going to be easy, but think about it this way, there's nothing you can do to change what's going to happen. The names are already on the list, so if you're about to be laid off, it's a done deal. Getting proper rest this weekend and... — read more

Expose them

Cisco could be brought into the election topics. It would be a great way to expose the leadership of the company for what they are. Either side, or both, would have some issues with Cisco. How Cisco treats people. Offshoring while garnering... — read more
